I've got a one off profile up for sale tonight. It's O-1 steel that I left the bevel finish at 50 grit and etched for something different. Some makers have a "Brut de Forge" finish, this one has a "Brut de Stock Removal" finish haha. The flats are hand sanded to 800 grit for contrast. The handle material is dyed Maple Burl that was professionally stabilized. The sheath is handmade stacked leather.

Specs:
OAL: 7.75"
Blade: 3.5" long, 1.5" wide, "Brut de Stock Removal" finish (50 grit), flats hand sanded to 800 grit. Edge 0.01" before sharpening.
Steel: 3/16" O-1 heat treated by Peter's to RC60.
Handle: Dyed, stabilized Maple Burl with black micarta pins and liners.
Sheath: Handmade stacked leather.
$SOLD Shipped CONUS, international buyers welcome, shipping extra.
Paypal, checks and money orders accepted.
Post "I'll take it" here in this thread and then PM or email me for payment arrangements.
Comments/Questions/Critiques welcome

'Brut de Stock Removal'........love it. :D

I've seen this knife in person. It is extremely well finished and very comfortable in hand. The blade shape is arguably one of the best around for all purpose every day chores. This knife is stout and capable of heavy use, yet the balance is outstanding. It almost disappears in hand. It's wicked sharp too.

No, I don't get any commission for this. :) I just wanted to comment how impressed I was seeing it in person.

Thanks so much John, I really appreciate the kind words! It was great to see your shop the other day and pick your brain!

Once again, excellent work. You have a very distinct style that just visually works... Especially here... Very clean design and striking scale choice. Beautiful wood... And very nice sheath for it to ride in.

I've seen the accentuated, I dunno, 'brute de milling machine?' look that has graced a few recently celebrated creations of CAD. Where the milling marks are intentionally left. (Usually in the perpendicular to the cutting direction which seems... odd...) I don't much care for that... I love the low grit directional lines here. They just work... They actually follow the working direction of the blade. And agree with John, when it comes to 'doing work,' this blade shape shows its worth time and again.

Once again, if it's still here on payday it's mine! You have somehow managed to schedule your 'unveilings' for my off weeks! And by that time my wife has had her fun with the bank account... Lol.
