Well over a year ago I purchased a small sheet of O-7 from Chuck Bybee http://www.alphaknifesupply.com/pictures/Blade-Steel/O7+-058776.gif but still haven't gotten around to trying it. Just wondering if any one has given this steel a try and what your thoughts were after wards?

That will give you lower hardenability than O-1 ,much better wear resistance and fine grain . Make sure your soak times are longer than O-1 to dissolve the tungsten carbides, they act like vanadium carbides. If you're going to normalize do it at higher temperatures for the same reason [ maybe 1600 F]
