Wow, I am overwhelmed with the sheer number of smart-alec answers that popped into my head:

1) Bagpipes.
2) C'mere you baaaa-d girl.
3) When you've 'got it' the sheep come to you.
4) Why do you want to know !?!

:D

Would it be legal for a non Scotsman to wear a kilt? I figure you'd get beat up by Scottish folks for not being Scottish and everyone else for wearing a dress.

It's probably a loose, loose situation for me.

As legal as it is for a non-Greek to wear a Toga, a non-polo player to weara polo shirt, and a couch potato to wear running shoes. ;)

Anyone know of a cheaper source of something similar to the utilikilt?? tried looking thru kilt website sources over here in the UK & can find formal kilts at £200 (~$300) plus or cheap-n-nasty readymades at £39.95 (polyester) but nothin' with pockets or in camo...anything that costs more than my khuk is way past my budget...

It should have been "lose, lose"

But loose, loose might apply to wearing a kilt in the proper manner.

I guess I can make my own with a towel.

Actually, the kilt was originally a long rectangle of wool gathered at the waist over a belt (to cover the nether regions), with the ends worn across the back and chest, respectively, and over the shoulder -- ends pinned at the shoulder by a large pin or broach. There must be pic's one can find via Google etc. All you need is a long enough rectangle of plaid, a belt (or rope) and the pin or broach. These pleated shirt-like items are a much later development after it was no longer illegal to wear plaid in Scotland. (From the Gal. "kilt" -to tuck up)

"Linton" is a parish in the lowlands, celebrated in the traditional pipe tune "Highroad to Linton."
