A cheap, easy fix is to get a strip of strong fabric (thin canvas works well) or thin leather around the width of you hat's inside band. Cut two pieces around 2-3 inches long. Glue or preferable stitch a good 1 - 1 1/2 inch patch of velcro (with different velcro sides on the two pieces). Then stitch the two pieces on the inside hat band where the back of your head would be (some hats have the hat band seam there) so that the velcro overlaps by an inch or so. You can now adjust the hat to whatever size you want within reason (works great if your steadily losing hair like what's happening to me!) without wrecking the hat's shape or making it hotter to wear by having more material on your brow.
