O.T. Don't know quite how to say this. Family matter. One helluva family.

You have so much class, Yvsa, it raises you right out of that mess.
I wish we could all come visit you.

You are the jewel in your family, and they all know it. The things people will say and do out of jealousy are sometimes beyond comprehension.

I have a whole half of my family I dont even acknowledge, they are so low class. We ll sympathize.

Sorry about Jack. Maybe you can have some Jack n Coke in his honor ?

Sorry Yvsa...

There is no wisdom that helps to understand this thing.

There is only the knowledge that personal strength allows
us to pass through the intended hurts of life.

We are born into a "family". We share the fabric of cells
common to blood. There is no way to undifferentiate ourselves
from those simple chemical similarities. How is it possbile then
to find ourselves so far removed from those same patterns?
How can it be that we look into our "brother's" eyes and find
one who is unrecognizable from the stranger passing?

Then there is the second family. It is the one you are gifted with.
It is the unseen blessing. Friends who find you across time and space.
Recognized kinship at a glance. This is the family that keeps you, nurutres you, teaches you.

We al sorrow for your loss of brother and brother. That is what family does.

...I have a brother who has spoken to me three times in in twenty years...
I haven't seen my brother for forty years.
He doesn't like me because I used to beat him up and take his stuff.
We talked on the phone once about ten years ago.
I promised not to beat him up any more, but he didn't believe me.
I used to lie to him a lot.

Some of my family on my mother's side is like this, so I can sympathize with you Yvsa.

Try not to let your temper get the best of you. Keep your heart and your words pure. They will have to answer for their own Karma. Don't take on any bad Karma that you didn't earn. Let your Brother's love be your shield against petty people. And know that you have family right here.

Subject: COLD-DARK-and EVIL
The university professor challenged his students with this question. "Did God create everything that exists?" A student bravely replied, "Yes, he did!"
"God created everything? The professor asked.
"Yes sir", the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then God is evil". The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor was quite pleased with him self and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?"
"Of course", replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question. The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero
(-460degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat.
The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?" Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil."
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
The professor sat down.
The young man's name Albert Einstein. :)

Nuthin' like a death in the family to bring out the worst in people. I'm truly sorry for your loss and the crappy treatment from your family, from what I've seen of you on the forums you deserve better than that.

Actually though...it just occurred to me, perhaps that's a profound comment on the goodness of your character. I'm not sure how it works out with y'all, but in my family it's always the good people who get screwed over the worst when there's a death in the family. In my family the good people are the ones caring for the dying, making arrangements, contacting family members, dealing with children, etc. while everyone else stands around stuffing thier fat faces and fighting over material sh!t.

Anyhoo, my heart goes out to ya'!

Yvsa,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Dealing with family at times like this can be very hard. Best of luck. Again I'm sorry to hear of your Brother's passing :( .
Mike

Thanks everyone. It wasn't as bad as expected. I'll make a new post so it doesn't get lost here.
