Is that how you spell Seinfeld? I tried Sienfeld and it just doesn't look right.  ;)
The one I'm talking about is the one that has the TV comedy show with I think it's Kramer?

Anyway just to let you know where I stand, I am -Not- a fan of his. Personally I just can't stand his brand of humor although there's obviously thousands, or millions that like him and his show.

Of course I'm not into too much TV comedy anyway. I kinda like the show Home Improvement with Tim Allen though once in a while.
Generally our TV is mostly on one of the educational or animal channels and occasionally a couple of the movie channels.:)

What do y'all find enertaining, on TV that is? :p :D ;)

I haven't watched tv in almost three years. The only show I miss is The Simpsons, and even that was going downhill last time I saw it.

Watched it for a while when it was new.
Got tired of it.
Can't take it any more.

Yvsa,
Try the "New Red Green" show tonight.
10pm Central on PBS.

It's usually a hoot.

Yvsa, I'm w/ you...
Our TV always has either Discovery, History, Science, or TLC on...
Don't care too much for the 'entertainment' on TV these days and besides, I'd rather be learning something.
Same goes for the kids...they like cartoons, but they also like Discovery Kids & Animal Planet.
Chip off the ol' Block I guess :D

I like Michel Richards but I can't stand that fat-assed whiner--I guess that means the actor is doing his job. :) :) :)

Who's he?

That probably answers your question.

Some times I catch a Saturday late-nite movie hosted by Zombo, don't know if it's syndicated, but it usually runs horror ( sometimes black and white ) movies picked for old, very bad, tasteless stuff. Interupted at the worst parts by Zombo making fun of it.

When I was younger a similar show was called Creature Features.

Saturday Night live isn't still on is it?

You'll dig Red Green if you have a male funny bone left in your body.
Give it a shot.

Rusty- Yes SNL is still on.

I enjoy the Brit-coms on PBS. (British sitcoms) Especially Red Dwarf and Blackadder.

I liked Seinfeld but can certainly understand how annoying it could be. No one was really likable, but it poked fun at a lot of human foibles and character flaws.
Red Green cracks me up as well.
If you like Seinfeld, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on HBO is like Seinfeld overdrive. Even more neurotic and hilarious... though you want to kick the main character a lot!

I saw a total of one episode. I've never really found sit coms particularly funny. No one talks about corn cobs. :D

Here in Italy there are many game shows that were copied from American game shows, including Wheel of Fortune, etc. I don't watch these ever... There is Disney channel, which I encourage my son to watch, and the normal run of cartoons, which he enjoys too. I'll sometimes watch a movie it it's good... I stay away from everything else unless it's Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and the ilk. I don't let my son watch violent, Japanese cartoons, or the shoot em' up American ones... He'll be exposed soon enough, unfortunately. :(

Walker Texas Ranger plays each night, but I don't indulge... Sorry, DannyinJapan. :D I respect Chuck Norris as a martial artist and a gentleman, but the plots and "overkill" are a bit too unrealistic for us Italians. ;)

Shakespeare's "As you like it," and they were getting old then.

I like me comedies like I like me horn handles--black!;)

I have never seen a whole episode of Seinfeld. I think his type of show is just a waste of time. TV stays on music channels a lot, when I don't have an LP or CD cranked up. Kids watch some of the old B&W 'horror' films when they need a laugh. Rest of the time, if its on its on DIY, cooking or baseball. Wife watches some of the quilting shows.

I don't find Seinfeld to be funny. If you are a guy, Red Green is hilarious. Highly recommend. Only sitcom I watch is Frazier, which is coming to an end. Mostly Discovery, Animal Planet, National Geographic is on. Used to love to watch the X-files, wish that was still on, or something as good. And of course Sundays is for Football.

Restraining myself from a full-fledged rant...

I agree.

What passes for humor in sitcoms or hosted shows (mostly) has nothing to do with humor...but is rather ridcule and sarcasm...belittling one person, or groups of people. It has evolved into mean-spiritedness, almost "shock humor" in that it is so detrimental to the target that people laugh to relieve the tension.

Cruelty, insults, practical jokes intended to frighten people...all are forms of control over others... and the "XTREME" dating or Fifth Wheel atrocities !!! sorry...I'm ranting...

I agree, Yuh nsuh.

Exactly! I think of it as urban, ethnic, politically correct, hate indoctrination. After all, just take a close look and try to figure out who CONTROLS the comedy industry in America and the explanation should pop out.Mostly it is as inane as watching Alf or pathetic as the Jeffersons, with it's barely concealed class envy "we finally got a piece of the pie" theme.

However, I have to admit I've gotten several good laughs from " Reno 911"
http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_shows/reno911/ :D

One episode in which the group take a load of seized ganga out to the beach to destroy it by burning it, all the while, drinking and eating and standing downwind had me rolling.

Nope...almost as bad as Jim Carey (sp? who cares). Discovery, History, Animal Planet, Sci Fi, occasional movies and daily local news.

OH! Also old episodes of the Star Trek family, especially those with Seven of Nine in them! :p
