It ain't easy and nobody ever said it would be. It is certainly not a perfect world.
I don't believe for a second the British rounded up all males above the age of 18 in Naseria and killed them. You want to talk of religious obsession- that belief is an obsession. Men find reasons to do bad and believe stupid things. I hardly think 'religion' to blame.
I do wish the supposedly good majority of Moslems would speak up- but we've let the propaganda go on too long, years before 9-11
For those of you who don't believe we should have gone in- the worlds predominant intelligence agencies believed Saddam had WOD. I did not want a candy store of lethal goods available to whatever terrorist wanted them. Further, forgetting the liberation of 20 million people, it was the only place we could go in and set an example. We couldn't go in to Saudi, now could we? Look at the good- Iran is on the brink of revolution for democracy. Kaddafi has surrendered his nuclear program.
I think we need to do something about OPEC.
I thank God Bush was in Office at the time. Clinton would have been a disaster. Kerry is a disaster.
I like the people Bush has surrounded himself with.
I'm just sorry Bush has the weenie gene from his father. But he is an improvement.
Hasn't anyone figured out there is no 'right way' to deal with reality? No democratic nor Republican solution? Life doesn't work that way. We survive the current crisis and challenge and hand the mess over to the next generation. If we're lucky.

One of my friends keeps making similar comments. He says that Muslims- if they, in the majority, are peaceful- are screwing up badly by not distancing themselves enough from their radical idealogical cousins. He says the radicals may push hard enough that the retaliation falls not just on them, but on all Islam.
If those holding enough power see this as an "us or them" proposition, there will be fire and death, and wailing in the streets.
