Jessica got to go home yesterday. She was supposed to get to go home on Monday but the Dr had to go back in and sew up part of the device that holds the colostomy bag or something.
Stella says they still have Jessica on 30 mgs of oral steroids but that she is still inflamed and they're hoping it doesn't get worse.
Momma is feeding Jessica several small meals a day now instead of three larger ones and that seems to keep Jessica's stomach from hurting as much. Also Jessica is largely on a fruit diet because fresh fruit also doesn't hurt her stomach as much as a normal diet.
It seems the surgeon is the only Dr left talking to Steall about Jessica's condition.
The other Drs have been waffleing on what the true diagnosis is whether it is Crohn's or OB I think Steall called it.
The Drs have said both and the surgeon says Crohn's definitely!
She said, "I have taken out the gall bladder that Crohn's killed, and then the colon and now part of the small bowel and the child is still inflamed! What else could it be but Crohn's? Believe me It Is Indeed Crohn's!!!!"
The other Drs, it seems, have given up because they absolutely do not know how to treat Jessica.
Stella and I talked about some options this morning but Stella's insurance won't pay on Dr bill's out of Florida for some damned reason.
I suggested the Mayo Clinic but it appears that going that way isn't an option unless they have a branch in Florida.
Anyway Jessica has to go back for a checkup in two weeks.
Stella and the surgeon seems to think that Jessica's abscess is coming back and that Jessica may have to be opened back up to drain the abscess again.
Jessica did tell her momma to tell me to tell everyone thanks for the cards and gifts and that she appreciates them a lot.
I don't know if it was one of the books y'all got her or what but she has already read one twice. I should have asked Stella which one it was.
All I can do is say, Thanks Gang, Y'all are the best!!!!
I may not hear anything for a while now unless it is an emergency but I'll let y'all know as soon as I know whether for good or for bad, hopefully for the good.
May the Gods Bless each and every one of you!
