Got this in email awhile ago and thought y'all might get a kick outta it.:D
I like this speech. . .I would certainly vote for the person that would stand up and say it, and mean it even if it was John Kerry. :p ;) :D

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR GEORGE W. BUSH OR JOHNKERRY GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans:

As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.
The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the worlds nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.
Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home.
On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work out a peace deal now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of you can go to Russia for negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big tables, too. I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers, and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security.

So start doing something with your oil. Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty --- starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them be saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America.

To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget. To the nations on List 2, a final thought. Drop dead.

God bless America.

Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

That would be awesome! I am Canadian and am 100% pro-war in Iraq. My government isnt, but we hope to change that on June 28th!

I guess there are a few of us.

Nice idea, except there are some things that we require and insist on using more of, that require the co-operation of some of the countries mentioned ot obtain. One that comes to mind is some particular rare earth magnets-- most of them are made from materials found in deposits in China, and a couple of years ago, the LAST plant that made them in the US (from imported materials, using technology developed here) was dismantled and sold to a Chinese consortium. BTW, such magnets are employed in the guidance systems of cruise missiles. As impressive as our technology is, there are still some things unavailable within our borders that are properly known as strategic materials.

oops....

There's also the fact that so far, much of the rest of the world seems to be inexplicably content to accept the worthless little pieces of green paper (or their digitized equivalent) that we print at an ever-increasing rate for real stuff. Really, whoever accepts those bits of paper for real stuff are getting screwed as well. Were that to suddenly stop, this country and economy could resemble Argentina.

I think that the mess we in is something that needs to be unwound slowly and carefully, and on balance, it might be difficult to say who is getting screwed more. Sadly, things like this that take time and current politics appear incompatible.

There are lots of ways to interpret these comments thaat I make, so I'll leave it up to you.

Today, I read that gas is 5 cents a gallon in Iraq. I paid $1.97/gallon yesterday to fill up. It costs us billions to pay to keep the Iraqi's happy and the cost of their gas cheap.

I just read that 9 militias are going to disband in Iraq - guess what? We are offering the militia members pensions.

Guess who is paying to rebuild Iraq? It is not the Iraqis right now - it is us.

I personally would rather pay to send our kids to college, pay higher salaries to our soldiers, pay pay higher salaries to our policemen, pay for firemen.... you get the idea.

I hope that whoever wins declares victory and brings our troops home. We are going to need them.

The courts just held that Bush's 2001 ruling opening the borders to Mexican trucks should be upheld. Now we will have 34,000 Mexican trucks crossing our border each day and on our roads every day. I don't get it - this is a time when we are concerned about national security. Our borders are becoming collanders with big leaks.

Our world is looking more and more like something out of "Brave New World" - or perhaps Kurt Vonnegut.

You know, I really don't think political threads are a good idea here, but I think you've stepped over the line. No freakin' way.

Let's not send a perfectly good Benz to a chop chop. Send it intact to me. OK, you can have one too. OK, I'm OK with you having first pick, even.

Of course, it has to be in good condition. Otherwise, they might have a special leaf spring...

You're right. We should confiscate the goods in the name of the People.

The 1992 NAFTA Treaty (the one that reduced pension lump sums for anyone working after 12/31/99 -- and what does THAT have to do with trade? Thanks Bill. You felt our pain.) required admitting those Mexican trucks. We were facing going to the WTO and losing -- again -- if we continued to bar them. Treaties, by their nature, mean giving up some of your freedom of action. You are supposed to get something of value in return. Maybe someone could figure out how NAFTA helped U.S. citizenry.

By the by, Mexico says it LOST 500,000 jobs to Asia in 2003 because wages in Mexico are 8 x those in many poor asian countries. Our future?

Tom- as always- sharp. The theory about Nafta was twofold in my hacked guesstimate-

1, Free trade is a preferred capitalistic theory and practise supported by this nation's governent and society.

2. We were supposed to feel short term pain by losing jobs we couldn't have held long anyway, and then be rewarded by establishment of new opportunities intrinsic to advanced developement. That make any sense to you?

I recall we didn't want the Mexican trucks/drivers because that country's standards are not as high as ours and presented a liability on our highways.

What power does the World Trade Org have over us?

Well, so far the responses ignore things like the trade deficit, or the fact that Japan recently lost $50B buying up US dollars for nearly, but apparently not quite as worthless yen.

The fact is, that though we have a whole lot of enriched plutonium and uranium, fabricated into most efficient weapons, our economy totally sux. I have posted so on the Political Forum.

Anyone remember Long Term Capital Management? If you haven't heard of it, it is worth looking into. Are you bothered that over 50% of the home mortgages enjoy an implicit governmental guarantee thanks to Fannie and Freddie, and at quite frankly ridicuolusly low interest rates thanks to the Fed? Or that it is impossible to save money without it losing value? Or that at last count, for every dollar of GDP, FIVE dollars of debt was incurred. Sorry that don't add up.

Or that derivatives with notional values of TEN times the GDP of the entire country are concentrated in 9 US banks alone? (Please, if you didn't do the homework asignment on LTCM and its rocket scientists, do it now).

It is a freaking pyramid scheme, that so far has been perceived as "too big to fail". That may change.

As far as I can see the future governments of the Earth are mulitnational corporations, with no allegience to any country, and those who benefit from them. We have constructed a very fragile "house of cards" economy, and those who benfited form it have already cashed out or guaranteed that they can. The rest of us are in the lurch.

This kind of thing doesn't get undone in a short time.

When the economy of this country depends on the rest of the world giving effectively giving us loans like the car dealer rolling what-ever a car buyer is upside-down on his trade-in into the payments on the payments for his new, soon to drastically depreciate (i.e. driving off the lot) car , we are not in a great position unless we wish to fall back on the enriched nuclides, which unfortunately are not quite so scarce as in the past.

Either own up and threaten to use the weapons to enrich those who benefit in the current set-up, or look to fixing it. I don't see either political party owning up to the fact that most of the US economy is based on some people getting very rich by moving pieces of paper around instead of actually making or growing stuff that the rest of us need, and that much of the rest of world as followed suit. Quite frankly, I an not surprised that some moslem coutries have reservations about adopting modern Western finance. (That in no way condones acts of terrorism--what currently exists is a perversion of "free markets".)

I view the situation as very fragile, and unstable. Great care should be taken in choosing how to stabilize it. I don't dispute that most of us are getting screwed from now to Sunday. I only point out that it is like bitching about the quality of meals on a sinking ship--some should look at what is happening to the ship. Unfortunately, our politicians (and those of other countries) are in large part in thrall to those who gain from the current situation, and strive to maintain it.

BTW, I see no difference so far in this respect between the two popular presidential candidates.

Rant over (for now...I usually leave this type of thing for the Political Forum)

Arrrrggghhhh where's my beer? firkin

Thanks, (maybe, I think).

Anyway, I feel a little better at the moment--enough to go to bed, at any rate.

But all the tangled, interlocked strings we've woven that defy understanding of all, including our "elite" will still be there when I wake up.

I guess that's "modern" life.

Not that I think I'm especially smart, but it has been said that ignorance in bliss and stupid people are happy people.

Is that the idea behind communism, at least as implimented to date?

Can one still get a lobotomy?

Darn Tootin!

Firkin brings up some excellent points. For instance, the US dollar USED TO BE backed by an equal value of gold in the Fed Reserve (i.e. U could take your 420 USD or whatever the current rate and trade it in fer an ounce of gold). This is no longer the case, whic really means that we're printing money that aint worth the paper its printed on. Hoewver, the value is kept artificially inflated by the oil trade, which must be done in US dollars. Is this any different than the corps that got busted a few years back for trading money on the book which never really traded hands, but let the corps show millions in transactions to boost their business? So, is our govt. even interested in an alt fuel source when they stand to lose the biggest money laundering op in the world? Makes ya think we'll need 2 control some oil prod. countires, eh? Hmm...

I'm very pleased to see the responses that this thread has so far accumulated. I was very aware that it could go to hell in a handbasket in an instant and am also very pleased to see that that hasn't happened, as yet anyway.
Besides the speech which has invoked the thoughts written here please also be aware of what I wrote at the beginning along with the very important smilies in this case and keep that in the back of your mind when posting.
I have something up my sleeve as maybe some of you have guessed, but on the other hand maybe you haven't.

The speech has several things in it that I would love to see happen but it doesn't necessarily reflect my politics, which aren't important to anyone but me anyway, well except for certain points we may share.;)

I have these special Craftsman drillbits... ;) :)

I wish politicians would do what was right instead of trying to get elected. Then there is the problem of people knowing what is right anymore. :(
I'm saving a 1/4" bit for myself. :)

here here!

Bruise? Could you save me a 3/16ths bit? I'll be by to use the drill when yer done.;):D

I'd like to see one year of us keeping half of our money at home.

I'd like to see oil go up so high that it would cost too much to ship stuff in and things would have to be produced locally again.

I'd like to see our government cut the number of people allowed to immigrate in half.

I'd like to see some of the money that is sent overseas be used to provide national healthcare and to establish some sort of a program for working people who are sick or injured and can't work.

Social Security Disability and SSI pay people who are defined as permanently disabled. But working in this program I run into so many people who are in car accidents, or industrial accidents and won't be permanently disabled, but they lose all they ever worked for because of medical bills and being unable to meet their mortgage payments. We can't help them because they either aren't bad enough to meet the criteria, or their conditions are expected to improve. I think surely helping people who are working be able to get treatment and not go into the poverty class is a more worthy goal than some of the stuff we send $$ overseas for.

I heard this morning that Brown and Root is having truckers run their trucks empty over there in Iraq so they can charge Uncle Sam and get their cut.
