I've put off posting this until I knew at least a little something. That little something came this morning when I finally got an appointment scheduled this morning. (insert uncertain smilie here) :confused:

The background:
The trip to Phoenix and back really exacerbated my back problems.
Before we went I was still walking somewhat regularly at the zoo in spite of not taking the heat well.
Some things a man has to just suck up and do for his own well being as even a little walking keeps me going and somewhat limbered up.
I sucked it up....
Since we got back I've only been able to go a couple of times.:(
My last steroid injections in my back done little good and while we were gone to Phoenix my pain management physician called my old neurosurgeon.
I finally got in too see him a week ago today after having to Wait All this Time!!!!!!! :eek:
Dr Gaede said I needed a new MRI after an exam and talking with me, watching me walk.
The appointment this morning?

Dr Gaede's nurse Jackie finally called with the date this morning. It is July 12th, almost three damned weeks!!!!!!! :grumpy: I go back in to see Dr Gaede a week after that and maybe, just maybe we will know where to go from there.
I'm just pretty damned certain that it ain't gonna be good news and that the final say is that I'm going to need another fusion in my back.:(
Probably to fuse my L-5 to my S-1 joint as that's where I've been getting the injections the last several years.
The L-1 through L-5 joints have been fused a long time now.

I'm getting too damned old for this sh*t!:grumpy:
I damned sure hope there's not another milogram in my future as those damned things hurt and laying perfectly flat for the 24 hours afterwards damn near kills me.
Maybe I can talk the ol Doc out of a few Demerol's or maybe copp some Morphine from one of my friends in worse shape than me if I have to do that again.

Gang, take care of your back's, damned good care. You don't want to go through this believe me! :(
All the waiting I've had and am having to do just proves how many folks there are out there with spine and brain troubles.
SMOKE would be good at this time.;) :D

Munks being here from the 30th for a week is motivating me to get up and move at least a little. There is a one of a kind exhibit at Gilcrease on Macchu Picchu that I want to show Munk and then the J.M. Davis Gun Museum at Claremore as well as some of my old stompin grounds, like to find him a Mountain Boomer if I can.:D

Machu Pichu?

wanna see some pictures, circa 1982?

Absolutely astonishing on so many levels (no pun intended.)

~~~Smoke~~~
Praying for you to have the skills to handle all your difficulties well and honorably.
I don't know of anything worse than back problems. They are so debilitating that your whole life is affected. I tore mine up just one time and for a week it was all I could think about or deal with, but thankfully I got past it with the help of muscle relaxants and pain killers.
All the best Yvsa for good news and a fix that works for you and relieves you of pain. Smoke and prayers are on the way.
Please let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Norm
The helluvit is that the 30 mgs of Methadone, 30 mgs of Baclofen and 60 mgs of Oxycodone/3750 mgs of Tylenol I take every damned day just ain't cutting the pain anymore.:grumpy: :rolleyes: :mad:
If it gets any worse I'm calling my pain management Dr.!!!! :grumpy:
Back pain is the worst... :mad: Hoping they don't have to do that fusion, Yvsa. Smoke & collective healing goodwill sent in the AM...
I am sorry to hear about your back and hope they are able to do something more for you. My sister-in-law is suffering with similar problems and it is like her life has been put on hold even though she struggles with it. She tries to act like nothing is wrong but every once in a while I notice the pain in her eyes when I'm around. It hurts me to see anyone like that. I seriously hope things get better for you soon.
Don't wait until it's unbearable to call your doc, Yvsa. Make him do his job. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
