I made a new tanto today. It is O-tanto in style. Specs are:
Blade W-1, forged and water quenched
Koshirae 14K gold
OAL 17.00
Blade 11.00 Shinogi-tsukuri
Width .99
Thickness .27
Scale is 25:1
Ito is 6/0 suture with tsuka-maki.

The photo is too magnified to look right ( shot under the microscope). It looks much better in person. I'll try and take some better photos soon.
The 25:1 scale means that 1mm=1" (measurements listed are in mm).

I have some really neat minis in the works that I will post when done.

These minis are amazing, how do you get such detail with something so small?

Stacy is a goldsmith....he does little teensy stuff all day long. My favorite is still the coke bottle folder he did a while back...

Do you forge those mini's with loops on? How do
you keep from burning up that tiny piece of metal?
I wish you could Video yourself forging/finishing that minute marvel

I will have an entire display of mini knives and swords. You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Ones like this are mostly for fun. I have some fully accurate katana with every part to scale. Some thickness are less than .010".

I'm hoping to have the new dagger ( full size) ready for Ashokan. This is one stunning knife. I have most of it done, and will probably bring it even if there is some detail work to finish.
