Hi Folks- :)

This one is sold guys, THANK YOU!!! :)

Here we have a super dee duper hunter/utility/pack knife. (BTW- I took all the cues and got a new hand model for the photos ;) :D).

I recently made some full tang knives in this pattern that were well received, and I wanted to make some with a hidden tang. It took some head scratching for me to decide just how I wanted to do these, but I'm very happy with the final outcome. This is essentially a framed handle, hidden tang knife. But rather than the frame being made from steel, it's made of G10. The resulting knife is VERY light.

Blade is O1, heat-treated to 61 Rc, thinly flat ground, and then hand sanded to a fine finish.
Frame is G10
Handle is stabilized Washington state Maple burl.
Two domed/polished 416 ss pins and ss lanyard liner (I put a deer hide lanyard with Elk horn button on this one). :)
Sheath is a horizontal carry, machine stitched, dyed a rich brown color, and sealed.

Blade Length- 3-13/16"
Blade Width- 1-1/16" at widest point
OAL- 8-5/16"

$325 shipped in U.S.

Thank you for looking!!!

This photo shows how the knife is put together. The tang has very small shoulders, and runs almost the entire length of the handle. After the fit-up is done, like in the photo, then I mill channels into the G10 (out from the tang slot) to give more surface area for the Acraglas epoxy to adhere to.

Guess you had to model the on the belt shots Huh? :D

Beautiful work as always Nick!

Thank you for showing the tang construction. I love hidden tang knives but almost always shy away due to little or no explanation of their construction.

Oh shoot, sorry for leaving out the dimensions guys! I'll edit the OP and fix that.

THANK YOU for the kind words!!!

Ryan... unfortunately I forgot about the cues for a new model until after taking the sheath/carry shots... DAMN IT!!! ;) :p :D

Nick: Nice, clean package there. I also like the presentation - my battered and dirty fingers can't hold a candle to yours. Where do you get your nails done? :D

Outstanding work as usual Nick, I like the contrast between the G10 and that beautiful burl wood.
Cheers

Haha... ;) :)

Burnsy- the balance point on this one is just ahead of the first pin. With the blade and handle geometry, this works out nicely IMHO, because it makes the knife not only very light in actual pack weight, but also in perceived weight/feel in the hand. That's just my $0.02 though. :)

Thanks guys! :)

BTW- We have been plagued with internet issues lately. I will, of course, try to keep a close eye on these threads, but if you can't get ahold of me through the forum or my email, please just give me a day or three to catch up. Thank you! :)
