Obenauf or Sebenza?

I am finally able to buy the knife of my dreams. Unfortunately, I've been dreaming about two different EDC knives for years. I love the look of Mike Obenauf's model 2 folder. But I've long wanted a Sebenza, as well. I'm thinking of an Inkosi with micarta inlays or a 21 with wood inlays. I've never seen the inkosi in person, nor have I actually seen a live Obenauf. I give the advantage to the Obenauf in aesthetics and being truly handmade, but the disadvantage, for obvious reasons, would be difficulty in repairing and maintaining it, if necessary. Not sure the Sebenza has any disadvantages, except that the Inkosi, my first CRK choice, doesn't yet seem to have wood inlays yet. Anyone care to share their thoughts on helping me make a decision?

since Obenauf isn't making knives any more (I've had and sold a couple, very nice knives) I would say get one whenever you can, since you can get a Sebenza whenever you want

Seems like you have it about right. The real negative on the Obenauf is the total lack of customer support. The disadvantage is well known and you can get some crazy deals on them . It's hard to beat a CRK, but I will likely get a Obenauf model 2 someday. You might look at Marty Young knives also-he too is out of the Carson camp.

Doubt you'll see a Inkosi with wood inlays, in the past, the wood inlays have been reserved for the 21's. Of course, that's substantial to change, CRK is definitely changing things up.

Onenauf vs. CRK was a popular discussion around 2000-2001! In my opinion, the important data is the same today as it was then. A CRK is the better knife. An Onenauf could kinda, maybe become a collectors item because he is/was Kit Carson's son in law.

Archieblue, can you briefly elaborate on why the CRK is a "better" knife? I've never seen an Obenauf in person, but have read good things about them. I've handled Sebenzas but not the Inkosi. Everybody seems to have their favorite model of CRK. Thanks.

I would consider every single detail of, say a "Model 2," down to each screw, washer, clip... every detail of a Sebenza is, IMO, superior.
