Objectivity, someone explain that to Nasty

Sigh.

Two-legged crazies are probably tougher to deal with. The traditional rural dog just wants to make sure you're not on his turf. Once you clear the property line, you're cool. He figures you're gone and he got what he wanted. There's no malice, no insanity. The two-legged ones imagine some other insult and want to exact REVENGE.

I used to bike at night with no lights and dark clothes. I figured, if they can't see me, it reduces the chance of them TRYING to hit me. It's my job to be out of reach. Ride through alleys, yards, fields, whatever. OK, so you're paranoid. That doesn't mean they are not, in fact, out to get you.

now, i may not have adequately communicated my point and made errors, but man i don't have much time. i'll reread this thing later. so if said something that doesn't make sense... sorry!

Dave, no one here has any problem with your post. You just told us how your evaluations changed in priorities. You did this with absolutely no insulting, and you especially didn't make smarmy commands disguised as attempts to keep the peace. Everyone's cool with you.

You're just being honest in an inoffensive way. We need and appreciate this. Thank you. Furthermore, there's no need to apologize for a little typo or two. My point in mentioning it earlier, was that:
1) If someone is a new poster;
2) Has unknown credentials;
3) Has atrocious spelling and grammar;
but
4) Speaks authoritatively,

On what basis should we listen to anything he says?

John?

I respect you and understand your point(s) of view, but the answer that came first to mind was:

We are guests in a good man's house. It is our manners or courtesy that we carry with us regardless of the situations we find ourselves in. Out of respect for the good man of the house, listening to others is a small price to pay; forgiveness may actually be a price that will come back to us when we need it.

I'm really not trying to beat a dead horse. My last post was just an attempt to explain that a little typo or a wrongly spelt word was no cause to apologize, but
why it was mentioned in my first post in this thread.

FWIW, if UB's post had been up when I first read this thread, I would have
just let it blow by.

How many times do we forgive? I am willing to forgive, but when forgiveness has been offered numerous times, and the transgressions continue, is it truly "loving" to accept the violations?

I accept that even the voice of truth can be interpreted as an attack (though I am claiming no gospel from me!).
