Maybe the reason I never much liked my ATS-34 Gerber AF Covert was because I couldn't sharp it as it was so much tougher TO sharpen...

A+ work, knarfeng! I wonder if you might be able to collaborate with Phil with steels at higher-than-RC61 hardness. Elk hunting and filleting sport fish might be required to get a broader picture (and fuller icebox).

It takes me forever to get 4 degrees per side on an already thin knife that has wrought-iron sides - doing so on a high-carbide single piece of steel must be excruciating.
