I'd like to try a giant obsidian blade like this one at some point.

There's one huge caveat to that. A tool of convenience if you're in an area that has obsidian lying around.

True. It can be picked up off the ground in the hills around there. Things aren't the same everywhere though; it's a geographically specific tool, historically.
