I purchased a Chuck Ochs "Black Knife " a few years ago, and has sat in my safe since. It is time for it to go onto someone that is more of a collector of automatic knives.
This knife is a transition piece from the first production run. 3 to 5 of these knives were produced. These rare knives featured a redesigned handle and hollow ground blade, along with no lanyard hole. Blade shows two indentations from hardness tester. Blade steel is 440 stainless. Aluminum construction for the scales/handle. Handles are grooved, anodized black, and held together with cap screws. Knife fires hard, just as it did the day it was made. It does have some very slight vertical play in the open position, but no side to side play, and locks up tight. Blade has a matte finish. No marks to speak of on the blade, as this knife seems to have been made, protected, and put away since its birth. There are two marks to mention on the handle. One is near the blade pivot end on the opposite side of the opening button, it appears to be a small mark that can be felt and seen. The other looks to be from a machining operation when it was manufactured. it is visible, but it is completely anodized, so it did not happen after it left Ochs. It should also be mentioned the knife is sterile. No visible markings on the outside, anywhere. Link to read more about these knives can be read here :

This knife was purchased from a well known military knife collector. If you are curious, e-mail me and I will tell you who the individual is. I have some documentation from the seller that I can forward to interested parties.
I am asking $500 +$15 shipping for the knife. No Paypal on auto's, so USPS money order only. offers are OK, lowballers will be ignored. Email me at movsouth@frontier.com. Now $450 shipped
