Octagon rifle barrels

I am looking for whole or partial octagon rifle barrels (at least 10" long).. Anybody got an old black powder barrel laying around ?? I don't care if it's rusty

I have a .50 cal barrel I am going to cut up soon to try making some pipe hawks. I can send you a piece when I cut it up.

I just finished a gun barrel pipe hawk a few weeks ago. I used a .50 cal barrel from 188?. To give it more "beef" I bored the barrel out and swaged in a length of 1/2" 1045 round bar and forge welded it in. Then I finished it with Laurel Mountian browning degreaser.

I love getting a hold of very old steel and iron and forging with it. A gunsmith friend of mine had a couple old beat up barrels that were destined for the landfill that he was more then happy to give me.
