October 2019 Buck of the Month - Released!

Just ordered my first Buck of the month! I’ve wanted a fixed blade Vantage for years.. Thanks for the pictures Makael! I see the butt end is a little differently shaped, but does it look like you could swap out other Vantage scales with it?

Got mine today. Was expecting the scales to be a little thicker. Not a fan of the kydex sheath though.

This pattern will fit any style of vantage handle. With the inlay tray/ inlay combo (need longer screws) or any full sized handle.

Thanks for the confirmation Jeff! Got mine on Wednesday, it's a perfect little fixed blade for pocket carry. My only (very very minor) complaint is the hole spacing won't work with a G-clip, personally the large tek-loks are overkill for something this size. But I'm even liking the blue/black G10 that was a pain for pocket carry(for me) on the folding version. I might try out some other scales eventually though..:D

I wonder why some have a more pronounced hump on the spine near the handle when others don’t? Is it a model variation?

Will Buck be doing a regular fixed version in 420hc or s30v since they have released this version? Wouldn't mind having a regular version to carry but want a leather sheath

Not sure where this one will end up long term. I'd like to see it as a catalog item. All over my paygrade.
A little history on this model. My QA engineer develop the fixed version to use as a test standard to validate our TAP test apparatus. We needed a vantage that eliminated all noise in the test except the blade hitting the force Gage. It came out so cool, that I lobbied for it to become sellable.

Its a great small lightweight blade. Drops in your pocket easily.

My personal opinion is it would be better like the 345 without the large hump, which has a deep blade as it is and there's enough of a rise to not need the thumb ramp.

I'm looking forward to this knife in a nice leather sheath.
Yeah ok, I live vicariously sometimes.:D
