This is the full size version of my "Ocular" model. These are thin and lightweight, making them great carry knives.
The blade is made from 6AL4V titanium and with a carbide "hamon" for increased edge retention. The knife is extremely light weight and handles exceptionally well. The knife only weighs slightly more than the sheath! The blade features hand rubbed flats with satin grinds. Titanium takes a "toothy" edge, and is a good choice for a lightweight defensive piece. It's also incapable of rusting, making it a good choice for use in a humid or wet environment.
The wrap is nylon and is impregnated with epoxy to prevent unraveling or moisture retention. There is also a full size turk's head knot that acts in a similar fashion to a traditional guard. The under wrap is red nylon. I made the handle a bit longer so it can be used as in impact tool if necessary.
The knife is ground with a chisel hollow grind for a right hand user. The kissaki is flat ground for added strength.
