Odd coincendence - Emerson and Stevens

I can't wait for the spring yard/barn sales to get started. I'm going to be out every weekend. Funny thing, when I told my girlfriend about hanging a few axes on the wall as art. She gave me the stink eye. And asked, "where?"

Is there a site that tells you what the marking mean? The reason I'm asking is. Mine has a "5" stamped between the eye and the poll. I have been looking online. But came up empty.

Maybe a partial stamp?
You we're correct there. I didn't want to reply to early. I've had the head soaking in a vinegar bath for a week now. And now I can see a faint 7. So that puts mine at "57". The heads looks so much better now. Thank all of you for all the input you've provided me!

I am hesitant to post in this old thread, but it has a video you all might enjoy watching about the production of axes in the Emerson Stevens facility in Oakland, Maine only months before it's closing in 1964. The comments section is also good. I have copied the youtube address from post #18 for your convenience.
