I dunno! They leave the knives unsupervised in the factory overnight and look what happens.
Its a "Tidifield" . Heres my IPB to compare-its not the same but its not the same as the chestnut bone either. Definitely special. I think it looks good.

Wow! That one is stunning. THAT is what I thought I ordered.

We need a 47 Sienna (which is what I meant not chestnut) jigged bone photo taken in broad daylight to compare and judge whether you got a "golden ticket" knife or whether yours IS IPB and just spent longer in the dye or something. I'm Intrigued.
The jigging looks different .

I own the Sienns bone model and they are not the same knife. Sienna is a much more reddish brown with different jigging. Yours is more autumn bone like my #81.

I knew I had seen that bone before. I went back to the GEC website and found it. The #74 frame is the same as the #47, just upside down. You got a leftover pair of covers from the 2012 Saddle Trapper. Autumn Leaf Jig Bone.

Nice. This is like finding a Golden Ticket, too bad you don't get a tour of the factory and a lifetime supply of knives afterwards

WOW good catch. You definitely solved that. Now that I know what it is I may just keep it. The only decision is what to get next. Another Viper in the IPB that I wanted, or a Northwoods Fremont Jack. Would you guys use a rare knife like that or is it something that should be a collectors item unused? I'm not really a collector, I'm a user LOL.

You got a Golden Ticket there mate .hang on to it and use gently. I love to know what happened.

OP, beautiful knife.

Nice. This is like finding a Golden Ticket, too bad you don't get a tour of the factory and a lifetime supply of knives afterwards

Oh, he gets a tour of the factory-- if he can get there!

I'd also venture many of us quickly end up with a "lifetime supply" of knives, too. Just not free. ;)

They don't mis-tube them often, but that definitely looks like one that snuck thru. And I guess that shows that some days we are in "Ron Burgundy" mode where the little issues are examined but the big ones go right on by ( like Ron reading the tele-prompter regardless of what it says, "In todays news, I am a boob" ).

Opened up my last two hoping for a golden ticket, but no such luck. I wonder just how far away from Indian Paintbrush that would have had to been for us to notice it when in "pick'em, check'em, get'em shipped" mode? If the tube says Indian Paintbrush, we might have sent abalone without pause.

From the source: Autumn Leaf jigged bone was put on no more than 4 Vipers and inadvertently tubed as Indian Paintbrush. So another one or two may show up...

Thanks for the Info Mike. I'll probably be giving you a call later today about buying another one in actual Indian Paintbrush LOL. By the way this was my first traditional knife order and I really appreciated the service. It won't be my last.

My money is on that every single Indian Paint Brush will be sold out by the end of the day now after Mike's last post. ;)

Well I know one that just got sold but I guarantee that the top got popped on that one before it went out! :) thanks Mike!
