Odd length belts, where to go?

I have a Bader II that I recently added a 14" contact wheel for grinding. My problem is that I need 2" X 86" belts to allow me to use with all the drive pulleys. John Williams with Klingspor has been helpful. Does anyone know if I can get 3M ceramic and micron belts made in 2" x 86" lengths. If so where? Thanks in advance!

No, it is back as far as it can go. Only have a 1/4" clearance now with the new modified bar. The 1.5" & 3" drive pulleys are no problem. The 6" pulley is the problem.

you only need to use 1 tensioner pulley, 1 drive pulley and one contact wheel. sounds like you have too many wheels in the mix. guys here are using 14" contact wheels on bader II's all the time with 2x72 belts.

Check with Bader.
Or, buy an additional arm and cut it short - easier than having two different lengths of belts!

STR & Heatride thank you very much for the information, I really appreciate it.

J. McDonald have you seen my 23 year old Bader?, bet not. I can promise you a 2x72 belt will not work with the Bader 14" wheel I have. Carrie and half the staff at Bader realize it and concluded I needed longer belts.
Not to be a smart ass but, "Teach a man to fish and he will sit in your boat all day and drink up all your Budweiser".

KBAKnife, Thanks for the advice, unfortunately I have all ready been that route and the contact wheel is within 1/4" of the post. Can not get any closer. With the 6" pulley drive mounted and the 14" contact wheel on it will not allow a 2x72 inch belt to be mounted.

I have a Bader2 and I have to use my smallest drive wheel to use my 14" wheel. I have a 2hp variable speed motor on mine so it really dowsn't effect anything very much.

Tom, thanks! Mine is a 2hp but does not have the variable speed motor. I am glad someone else spoke up as I was beginning to wonder if my Bader was an odd ball one!

I have a variable Bader B3. The 14" wheel just barely clears the arm socket. I slip the belt on and pull the tension arm down hard. Then I lock the arm and have about 1/2" clearance. That is all you need anyway. John at Klingspore can make up any size belt you need.
