Anyone ever notice whenever they show a picture of a one-handed opening, the blade is 1/2 way open, and the hand is totally wrapped around the handle ?! How do you do that ?

Obviously when the open starts, the fingers need to be out of the blade path, on the back scale. Does anyone pause, mid-flick, and adjust their grip to hold the handle ?!?
What a dopey way to pose a picture.

Fcat is, when one-handing a folder you are pinching the handle between your fingertips and the palm, clearing the blade opening, and it is not a real secure grip.

... or am I not opeming my knives correctly ?

RH, you should be a magazine editor. Or join Siskel and Ebert, because I give you two thumbs up for your keen observation. Some of the knife magazines do kind of puff up their presentations and don't stick to what really happens. THere are also some pretty god nasty awful pics in some of them. Not bad pics, just ugly knives or way too gawdy. Keep up the good work. I hope you land that editing job you're practicing for.

And, yes, you're doing it right. Keep up the good work. To quote someone on the forum "If you play with them, you're going to get cut".
