There is actually more 0454's for sale on eBay then there is 0562's....one might be able to make a case for the 0562cf being a more elusive knife then the 0454...right now anyways

i would guess ZT had all or at least most of the 0454's made before the release, and only sold what they had. On the other hand, the 0562, being a normal production knife, probably outsold the initial production by a long shot. People who got in on the first wave of the 0562 are probably hoarding them because they are totally sweet.. especially for the price.

Probably, I gave up for now trying to get one...I still want one, just waiting to score a g10 for under 200

Not odd at all. Trends in selling are never predictable other than say limited edition/desireable knives will sell quicker and for more than mass produced/regular production items.

No one really bought a 0562cf for the purposes of selling it. No one knew initial demand was going to exceed supplies by that much. On the other hand the 0454 people knew how many were being released to usa/can and plenty of people got them to flip.

In the long run, people overpaying for 0562cfs will be left with a knife worth significantly less than what they paid. People buying 0454s at this point are probably more likely to see the values go up over time.

That's for sure.. the 0562CF is a regular production knife and will probably be available for several years..

The 0454 is done/retired..whats out there is all that's gonna be out there..

If you want a 0454 now would not be a bad time because after the ones being flipped off are gone they are only gonna get scarcer and IMO more valuable..

At least until I can pick up a couple. ;) As far as scarcity is concerned, just because an item is rare does not mean it increases in value. Sometimes a "precious" that is extremely rare, has a very narrow market or pool of interest. It can in some cases, work against you. Look at the way pawn shops operate. They can buy your "precious" if you need cash, but they really don't care if it is the last "precious" in existence. Knife collectors often do the same thing. If you don't sell for the offering price, then it's on you (time and money wise) to find the one person that will meet your reasonable/exorbitant selling price. It's all a matter of perspective and the way the economy has been the last 6-8 + years people are going to possibly have less disposable income to throw around on secondary market "precious".
