First time dealing with Mr. John Ferguson over at Chief's Cutlery in Edmond, OK, and I have to tell you it was extrememly pleasant. In the past I have kept my online ordering thru pretty much the same two companies. Both were large, with little or no personal touch on the back-end...take the money, put the box in the mail, and forget about Steve in NYC. Not John.
Responded to EVERY ANNOYING EMAIL!!! Even apologized for missing a message that my server NEVER sent!!! Price was right, service was terific, and contact was easy.
One more thing, something I have not seen yet. I have order a few custom knives from various makers. Some pricey, some reasonable. The only time I ever received a personalized letter along with any knife was once from Spyderco, a big company, with a bunch of secrateries who could have written the letter, and FROM JOHN AT CHIEF's...this was cool..something that truly struck a positive chord with me.
Heck, I just hope he carries all the toys I plan on getting! I even put in for a BM940 with him...looking foward to it.
Thanks!
