So I have a frame lock knife that is super tough to open. its also off center, I was thinking I could order some teflon washers and maybe put a thicker one on the side it is favoring or maybe do a teflon/bronze combo on one side. Any other ideas or things i should do before I order 50 cent washers with 10 dollar shipping! thanks

Go to a WIP on that type of folder, please. There are so many things that can cause that problem including bad grinding with ricasso area sides not paralel, bent blade, or blade ground off center and back bar thickness incorrect. Frank

The screws that hold the liners to the spine or spacers may need loosening and having the knife torqued back straight and then retightened. Dropping a knife on one end often does exactly what you describe. You could give it a diagonal tap from the end/side that is most open, but that really is a short time fix. Take it apart, check all parts, re-assemble with a shim to keep the blade centered ( toothpick works).

Shimming with a washer is a last ditch effort...and may cause more problems with opening.
