  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Off for some bush time

^ is hard on the knees......and i got damaged knees to begin with. Not impossible but really depends on the person and the hill.....

I might build up a Roloff 7 speed internal hub for this bike at some point.....

I love the single speed though, for city riding it rules. Literally no maintenance, wipe and oil the chain, drip some oil into the oil port in the rear hub, fix a flat once in awhile.

DFilgate, email sent back :)

For an around town bike you cannot beat a singlespeed-foolproof, almost no maintenance. Here in Boise as many people commute via bicycle as cars. Most are old cruisers, steel road bikes and fixies. I had one for a few months, a GT Edge, aluminum frame built up with a singlespeed kit. I used to climb with it all the time. You won't win any races with one, it's not going to go as fast as a quality multi-gear road bike, just make sure you pick your gear ratio based on what you are physically capable of and what your "around town" elevation change is like.
