we all know the popular brands such as benchmade, zt, spyderco and kershaw. but what are some of the more unknown knife brands that you guys like that some of us may not know of? kinda knew in the knife world and i have alot of kershaws and spydercos but what am i missing out on?

Your most definitely missing out on the Ontario RAT-1. Pick one up and thank me later. DO NOT get the black coated blade version.

Incredibly well performing knife for the price. I bought one to use as a beater during my move and the move is over and this thing is still king of my pocket.

Guardian Tactical
Lionsteel
Southern Grind
Mcusta

There are tons of cool brands out there to check out. You may just want to go to a site like BladeHQ and search by brand to find ones you like.

Do you have any Condors? If you need a machete/big chopper/camp knife, they have a large assortment of designs and sizes, no matter what your task and what your taste in blade styles leans to. Classic Latin patterns, African pangas and tapangas, Southeast Asian style with parangs and goloks, and so on. 1075 steel, high quality leather sheathes. Condor is the "nicer" line of their parent company Imacasa, which are rougher finished and come with no sheath or edge, but are cheaper and add even MORE sizes and patterns for a machete enthusiast. And if you order them from Baryonyx Knife Company(run by Bladeforums member FortyTwoBlades) you can select "special grade" to get them with an edge, smoothed handles, etc. Condor also makes the Baryonyx Machete, designed by FortyTwoBlades, and sold exclusively through his site, which is also worth looking into.

Aranyik blades are fairly hard to get in the US, but if you like machetes, cleavers, and choppers in the Thai(and surrounding area) style, they're worth picking up when they're available.

If you like fixed blades, especially if you have a taste for combat/survival/heavy choppers, check out Ontario, especially their Spec Plus lineup. They also make some great budget folders, with their Rat and Utilitac lineups.

I agree 100% I bought mine to be my work knife after my tenacious broke. I have been beyond pleased with the quality and function of this knife. And surprisingly, the aus 8 isn't half bad either. This is truly the best value blade on the market IMO.

Look for Stefan Schmalhaus channel on YT, lots of unique knives from small companies, mostly traditionals ... Karesuando, Eka, etc.

Most of the ones I would tell you to look at have been mentioned aleady so I've only got a couple. Fantoni, Brian Tighe, William Henry.

Opinel knives: classy, old school, non-threatening for everyday use, good quality at a low price. #8 is the standard but they are inexpensive enough to own a few different sizes for various tasks

Grayman
Masters of Defense (though they are long out of business)
Bradley
Winkler
DPx (are they still considered off the main page?)
Protech
Bad Monkey
Helle
J. Martinni
Wildsteer
Ratworx (check out the MRX chain-drive auto)

I can't believe anyone hasn't mentioned Buck yet. Been USA a made since 1902. Folders, fixed blades, assisted, traditional and tactical.
