off the main page knife brands

I can't believe anyone hasn't mentioned Buck yet. Been USA a made since 1902. Folders, fixed blades, assisted, traditional and tactical.

I wouldn't consider Buck to be "off the page" at all.

They are one of the top-selling and most popular knife brands around.

But they may not be as popular with most knife enthusiasts on this forum compared to the "everyday Joes."

Customs and Mid-Techs are kind of a different thing than production manufacturers, so if you're looking at production folders/fixed blades, there are some little known manufacturers out there:

Coast makes an FX 350 that is a great sub-$30 knife.

Cold Steel's American Lawman is a must own IMO.

Bad Blood is supposed to make decent knives at fairly affordable prices.

HK, Harley Davidson, and Lone Wolf are all Benchmade sub-brands, but worth checking out.

Pro-Tech and Bradley Cutlery both make killer folders if you can find one.

Dajo Adventure Gear seems to have some cool little folders and a few fixed-blades but folks seem to have mixed reviews on them.
