Off to the garage...WARNING! STRIPPER AND BLOODY STUMP CONTENT!

FALs have twin return springs, BTDT....not too sure what that meant.......Beat the damn thing? Break? Bite...? I too wanna know

Been There Done That. I'm guessing. Andy remembers when they too, could own semi auto goodness like the FAL.

The spring reference: the FAL bolt has a rat tail that is captured by a spring and plunger type assembly in the butt stock, it is removed from stock via a removable large screw in the butt plate. It is very long and under a lot of tension. Many of us (myself included) have been smacked in the face while removing it.

That's why I didn't understand it completely but knew it was something of the sort. I myself am a Stoner Rifle guy.

Yes Been There Done That one set of return springs in the face is generally enough to get one to obtain a correct or fabricated removal tool for the task. I ended up with both a made one and the genuine armourers tool....both being a great improvement over using just a screwdriver....!!!!! I still get to toy with some Govt owned SLRs from time to time ... ;)
