::: Off To The Woods :::

One thing for sure these days is that wandering around in the Park Preserves you never know who you might meet or what you might find.... More than a few bodies have turned up in them. See - I am familiar with that neck of the woods :)

I would at least be carrying a SJ! (perhaps with a HK or a SIG for back up)

i want to get a concealed carry license along with a glock 9mm, but am unsure of the details on how to go about getting one, or if it would be worth it living in illinois.

Ya - in IL things can be difficult. Heck in some areas you cant even own a handgun - period......:thumbdn::grumpy::thumbdn:

You and me both. You can carry your glock and I will be packing a HK mp5
Then we can do some hunting in Dear Grove Forest Preserve..:D:D

Honestly Sak, this is IL.. Weapon laws suck here.
I wonder if carrying huge machetes in the local forest preserve is a problem?

I love that micarta pattern. I have heard some people describe it as a version of snakeskin, but it it clearly linen vice canvas.

I wonder if this pattern micarta can be available through the custom shop?
Or was it just from a unique batch that will not be produced again?

Not in that area - might kick up some deer, perhaps a pheasant or even a Cougar!! (see resent news paper article) - but no grouse.

Yea, thats correct, no grouse
plenty of coyote and badgers are also in this area.. There are plenty of deer in this area.
In the fall I saw a 12 pt. buck on the trail.

it makes no difference who you were with, lol, there is no way it was a 12 point. it would have to be enormous. nothing of that size has any reason being in a forest preserve the size of a large sub-division. and, with your eyesight, you would have to be face to face with it to even tell if it was a buck or not.

i've only seen one buck at that preserve, and it was no where close to being a 12-pointer.

(sigh)...Your right I do have piss poor eye sight. I have no doubt it was at least a 10 pt.+ Don't make me get Tom to start posting here to prove ya wrong...
I have seen plenty of unusually large deer in this area.. They don't call it Deer Grove for nothing... :p

i'm sure what you actually saw was a wild 30-point jarvis... hunting for a stereo he could pawn since he isn't working... gotta get that fix somehow!

:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

LOL:D:D.......Oh man.."30 pt" of what? . I need a .gif file of that and will make it my avatar..
:D:DWild Jarvis in the forest.!!..The madness!!

Nice pictures--thanks for sharing!

Busses, Kifaru, festive beverages, time in the woods...

Sounds outstanding:)

Dang! The roped pattern of the micarta is freaking screaming! The handles on that Satin Jack are showing off the pattern great...best I've seen in a long time. The Snake Skin looks really light though...maybe that's why the pattern is so noticeable. The BAIII I got has SS slabs on it and they are way darker than that....and the roped pattern on mine is no way as distinguishable as yours.

Nice....good snag man!:thumbup::cool:

Oh yeah...nice snow and trees!;)
