Hi, just finished building a new amd65, which is a folding hungarian ak47. Pretty interesting and fun to go from a box full of little parts to a fully functioning gun in a couple of days. Its a all matching numbers kit that I added a reciever and some american made parts to.

started with this

Used this a lot

I still have a couple of things to do to it, adding a burris fast fire on a rail that replaces the rear sight and buy more ammo for practicing. It shot to point of aim with no adjusting too which was nice.

As long as you have a hydraulic press and the correct fixtures for the different parts its not a tough job. Now going from a flat and bending the reciever and cutting all the holes in the right spots now that is a pain in the ass. But with a press, a lathe, and a milling machine nothing to it. lol.

It looks good man. I "assembled" my Smith & Wesson lower and BCM upper but that's not as involved as what yours looks like. I have a wasr 10 also but bought it ready to rock. I like the looks of that muzzle device too, unfortunately I live in MA so I'm not really supposed to put any flash hiders on.

Have to add a long flash hider or some type of device thats welded on because of the short barrel on the amd65. Yeah putting together an Ar is much simpler, even though the gun itself is more complicated. Your just starting from a much more scratch version with a ak build.

That awesome highlight job on the glock is green crayon. Yeah I know tacky. The glocks only 2 or 3 years old.

Great work, it turned out grand. I've wanted an AMD-65 for some time now given their inexpensive price, but I think to truly do the rifle justice though, it would need to SBR'd and while legal it just seems like a costly hassle. Still I want to pick one up when funds allow.

I think if I were going to go the sbr route I'd rather do a Krink. The amd65 suits me just fine though as a truck gun and general around the farm gun, easy to carry. The amd kit I picked up pretty cheap add the reciever and all the usa parts and I'm still in it right at 400 bucks.

I would love me an AK. In Canada, they are about as illegal as illegal gets. That looks awesome.

I've got a Romy in a box that looks just like that first pic. Nodakspud receiver and all. I don't have a press so there it sits. When I get moved to Dallas I'll find a gunsmith that can put it together for me. By the way, that Magpul front grip is genius!

Dman when you get to dallas give me a yell my buddy isn't too far from dallas and would be a good choice to put it together for you.

It shoots good, point of aim at 25yards and minute of pepsi can at 200 yards.

I've heard that with the standard forward grip it can be a bit hard to get 30 rounders in the Mag well. I've noticed you've upgraded to a magpul. I was just kinda curious what you thought/discovered. In its current form it looks like one heck of a "truck gun" or really a anything carbine. Dang, the more I look at this thread the more I want to acquire an AMD-65. You have good taste.
