Learned this from the wife today. the earths gravity is the same right now and a broom will stand on it own. look and see ,or try it and see.

I couldn't get the broom to stand on its' own - actually I couldn't even get it to stay propped up against the office door. I sent the intern off with it.

Old hoax. Many brooms with flat bottoms can be stood up. I have heard the same story about silver dollars back when they were around. Nothing to do with the earth. All gravity is directed toward the center of the earth.
