Off Topic Announcement

Please forgive me for the OT (off topic) post, but I just wanted to let everyone know that on Thursday May 11, 2000 @ 11:25 pm, my wife gave birth to our son. His name is Mark David, he weighed 7lb 10.75 oz and measured 22 inches in length. Everyone is doing well, though we could all use a little more sleep

Sorry for the late announcement, but I've been like the proverbial chicken with it's head cut off.

Congrats! Don't count on more sleep for awhile. :-)

Congrats, have you bought a carriage yet?
You can always ask JSP for a design?

Hi David,
Congradulations on the birth of your son!
I wanted to post this announcement but just got too busy to do so.

I did think of it,and its the thought that counts.

Wouldn't it be cute if he were given his first set of Kali sticks, baby sized ones of course and then later when he outgrows his first pair you have them bronzed for him and have them attached on a plaque above his bronzed shoes.

MAZAL TOV!!!
(Old Gaelic greeting.)

What a joy!

And, although you may now find it hard to believe, eventually they DO sleep though the night.

Dave,

Congratulations!!!

My daughter is almost 2 yrs old and she still doesn't sleep through the night. It sounds insensitive and uncaring, but put him in a crib in a separate room. In the long run, it will help you and him.

I don't know you and you don't know me

But when you bring life into this world

You will realize that things go around in circles

Now you are a father, and you have a son

One day your son will be a father, and he too may have a son

Life passes for all of us, but when you look at your son, you will know that at every end, there is also a beginning

Enjoy your son, you're a lucky man

Best wishes from SYK

Truer words could not be spoken. I fully understand what you mean.

My grandfather has been very sick lately, and it looked for a while as though he would die before his great grandson was born. My mother went to see him in ICU the morning after my son was born and she said that, even though he didn't open his eyes, he smiled from ear to ear when she told him about his new great grandson. Much to the doctor's surprise, my grandfather is at home now and as soon as my wife and son have the green light, we're taking our son and daughter to see their great grandfather.

Thank you to everyone for your warm wishes!

Dave.

Congratulations!

Where are our cigars? (Montecristos or Cohibas would be nice!) :-)

From what I hear(I don't have any kids), you'll have many sleepless nights.

Actually, wouldn't it be cool if we saw a pic of the baby holding 2 palm sticks. Baby Sinawalli.

CONGRATULATIONS, You've just hinted at a new topic of conversation. How about, "Preferred knives for performing circumcisions, plain vs serrated." Or what about, "What did you use to cut the cord, fixed blade or a folder?" How about, "My wife just gave birth to a beautiful little boy. When do you think I can teach him proper knife handling and what do you recommend as a first knife? 6 mos? 8 mos? A Spyderco? Benchmade? Or does Fisher Price have a nice "diaper knife" that you can think of? Best of luck, and I hope your wife is in good health.

Great story SYK! Thanks for sharing with us.
