Off topic at the hospital with my best friend

I have alway's believed people should suffer the same fate as they gave to another. I think it would make other's think a little more about what they are doing. A couple year's ago, we knew a 16 yr old who was hacked to death with a machette.I don't think the other kid 18-19 even served a year for what he did. The guy claimed the kid stole some of his food and a argument started. I wish you and your friend's family the best and hope all turn's out well.

So sorry. Looks like the same crap happens all over, unfortunately. 30 years ago when I was first married, some girl started a fight with a 17yo neighbor girl. Well, when they took them off to jail our neighbor died from a stab just beneath her breast with a screwdriver. She didn't even know it happened. Her life was ended just for defending herself. Smoke up for the family.

That's pretty awful. SLC is such a nice town, too. Except for the downtown area; lots of sketchy tweaker types there.
 
I am so sorry to hear about this. It breaks my heart:( I really do not understand how people behave sometimes. I just get through it with this thought "What goes around comes around" Kharma is a funny thing.

Prayers and smoke for a full recovery and justice to the scumbags. I worked in the NC Prison system for 30 years, I am not surprised at anything I hear or see in regards to criminal activity.

Please keep us posted on his progress

Bummer. One of the articles says the adult (21 years old) was the driver of the vehicle, took the juveniles there knowing they planned on stabbing the kid, and encouraged it/egged them on!

Stroke of luck the off duty officer happened to be close, and stopped the right car!

Praying your friends son recovers quickly. Hoping the perp gets raped in prison. Repeatedly. Used to be you mouthed off to someone or gave them the finger you risked a butt whipping but now days you risk your life. Crazy folks out there.

Saddly, this is the norm. Back in highschool (2005) for me this is what happened at most house parties/events. People just come to get into fights. I witnessed 2 stabbings, countless beer bottles over heads, baseball bat wielding beatings, I've seen a machete or two being drawn... This wasn't in a bad neighborhood either it was one of the richest in Canada. Kids from the bad areas would go for a drive looking to start this shit. They took to the gangster lifestyle quite religiously.

The worst however was working up near the reserves. After work walking through a small town on the way back home pickups full native kids would beat the white kids next to death and roll them into the ditch. The reserve police didn't do anything about it either. We call this a civil society we live in...
