Yeah, probably true. It wasn't until I actually held the rat-3 in my hands that I fell in love with it. Then I started using it and it was like OMG.

Used the Rat-3 for a week and hated the handle, way too skinny.

The 3 and 4 have never felt great to me. Oddly, the Izula II is a different story entirely. Love that little knife.

Can't say I found the 3 or 4 very comfortable either. From what I gather, if you have bigger hands, the ESEE knives tend to be more comfortable, but if you have smaller hands, then they are generally not. That is only what I have learned from the various peoples I have talked to about it though. There may be other contributing factors as well. No worries though, Beckers are more than comfortable enough for me.

I have big hands for managing the ultra-large biscuits. Still don't like the 3 or 4 handles.

I have 1066vik sized hands and I dont like the grip on my esee 4. I put liners on it to make it a bit thicker and still dont like it.

Country ham in the skillet. Biscuits pubering in the oven. Last bit of pear preserves becomes nothing but a sweet memory today. Happy/sad.

Have large hands as well.

The grip on Beckers seems better to me because the handles mold to my palms.

Does anyone know if the 3 will still fit in the stock sheath if you add liners?

Since it's injection molded and not kydex I don't think you can heat it up and reform.

Yes, they still fit.

Thanks, good to know.

I personally like the handle on the 3. My hands are probably a little larger than average but not huge. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new BK Shorts handle compares.

I'll have to let you try out my ESEE4 w/aftermarket scales some time -- makes ALL the difference in the world.
Now I need to make or trade for a set in orange G10 for my pack knife to see if that's enough to make it functional.

I got a ESEE 3 and love it, damn blade is sweet and fits me pretty good.

But I don't have banana hands....

I too have a 3 in desert tan with dyed scales. Have a custom leather sheath coming for it this week too!

Question... Is it possible to reprofile a knife to scandi? It is currently convexed

I don't have an ESEE3 , but I do have a RAT3. One day I'll be a real boy! On another note, mailbox had lots of mags for me today. Guess one was opened first, yep Ka-Bar.

I like the 4th one down, but it could just be the way the pieces are arranged.:D

I had all my Becker photos just tagged "Becker." What a pain in the ass that was becoming.
I started tagging by model tonight, but I only got through 50 or so. My eyes and brain are dead from working all day.
