Yeah ,that seems strange to see him go. It almost seems like yesterday he was president. To me it was, in general, a happy time back then. I had no huge complaints about his presidency. R.I.P.
He gave us servicemen a pretty decent raise the year he came into office and treated us real good as long as he was in. Damn good man. Damn fine actor. Damn fine president. There don't come much better. Probably the last American president that could truthfully say he had a pair.
Somewhat like our current administration, the players behind him we're the real source of policy, I feel. Unlike our current president, he had a charisma that made him likeable regardless of how you felt about his politics.
I have been sobing for a few hours and will continue to for another few days. President Reagan was the greatest of my life time and the greatest of my knowledge and understanding of the last century. He was truely one of our greatest Americans.
I remember reading that President Reagan had so much respect for the presidency that he would never enter the oval office without donning a dress jacket. That shows alot of character.
He was president during my formative years and I will miss him.
