Off topic but what the HE!!

my cousine gave me a gallon once that he had put dried peaches in and let it age a little   um,um you talk about a drunk country boy,,that I was :D but it sure was good  :D

i got 5 with 8lbs of elderberries in it right now, and 12 lbs of clover honey, the indians used to think the elderberry sacred, the vikings made mead with honey.
i prefer the sacred berry idea.... supposed to cure all, they wouldn't even burn the dead berry wood...

but the viking thing is cool too, they used to go berserk and chop things up, thats where the word beserk comes from... vikings, swedish..

my dad was half swede.. berserker he was :)

I would love to try that,, never had it with elderberry and honey :D I had read that elderberry as well as honey was used alot in old folk remedies, I have alot of books on old folk remedies, edible wild plants, ect,, that talk about elderberry.

I have never drank any mead,,I have read about it, and wanted to make some before, but never have.,, I think it is still a popular drink in Europe,, but i dont think it ever made any Head way here America.

but try the moonshine sometimes with dried peaches,, (the same ones you can buy in the grocery store in the pack)., fill the gallon jug to a little less than 3/4 with the moonshine, then add the peaches till the shine fills the jug, then let it sit and age for about 2-3 weeks (shake occasionally)

I think you will have a hard time putting that jug down when you taste it :D

For Beer, Alexander Keiths, or Sleemans.
