A little off topic but I feel this should be an informative sticky in the Canadian forums if some good info is shared.

Recently I did a trade with a good friend of mine in US. My knife arrived fine to him but his two knives (Seb21 Tanto and a Norseman) got detained at customs. Both knives were in the same package. The knives were deemed "illegal" to enter Canada as they opened with centrifugal force...something we know it can't really happen with the sebenza and very very unlikely to happen with the Norseman . I have three options, 1.appeal 2. Export it back to US 3. Destroy them.

At the current moment I am trying to appeal the decision but we are thinking that maybe it will be easier just to export the knives back to US. Canada custom is a total pain as they literally tell you in the letter it is up to you to find a bonded carrier for the package and they don't provide any list or anything. I am here asking my fellow BF Canadians to either share their info on how to appeal their decision, share some positive or negative stories, and MOST importantly share some insight on possible Bonded Carriers I could use to export the knives.

Please let's not talk about the political BS about Canadian customs because I don't want this thread to be closed because of it. Let's.keep it just informative !!!

Really sorry to hear that happen again and again. I have been to the same situation once. I appealed but like all others, I failed. I requested a visit to explain and demonstrate that it is just a pocket knife. But they didn't do that. They claimed that they have redo the test, and the folder didn't open completely, but opened and so it was still an illegal weapon. The process was very very long. If I could do it again, I would send it back to USA. I am not sure but I have read somewhere that Purolator might be able to take care of that. Good luck!
