Yea, you are right. Just seemed to hit me wrong at the time. Over my bad self now. :D
The main reason I stay here is you guys. You always seem to help anyone at any time even if it is maybe taking a sell away. You can't find people like that anywhere else. I posted on another thread the same thing. This place is like family. Being on a different forum here I feel like a fish out of water.

HEY! That's what I was doing, too! We should do lunch!! :D

Your concerns are very valid, Mr. Mike! It has become a three ring circus at times of late and I'm no innocent! A bit of reminder is necessary every so often because I seriously doubt I'll grow up at this late date. ;)

I think it's totally Kits fault. If he wasn't so lenient his children here wouldn't have become so unruly and we'd not have gotten so carried away that we needed a spanking. Who'd think that a military man would tolerate such lack of discipline? Jeesh, if ya can't count on the moderator who can ya count on, eh? :D

But what a great Dad, eh? He's poured some sand in the old tire laying out back for us to play in while he's gone to look for wood to make a more better sandbox.

Thanks, Kit-dad, we love ya! :)

Fitzo, you're the greatest :)

Where the hell is IG? He run away?

I posted down below in a thread and thought I'd better say it here. The Friday thread, as far as I know, was Grandfathered in so I assume it will show up and I promise not to screw with it. :)

Thanks Kit, we'd be lost without the Friday thread... ;)

I posted off topic here because I don't visit any other forums. I'm kinda like Trick, don't know anyone anywhere else, but unlike Trick I don't want to. These folks are enough for me. I'll just drop similar stuff in here from now on.

I think the problem on that forum is using spaces on your name when you register. Try signing in and if doesnt work. I will shoot you a new password and that will get you in. Then you can go to the control panel and make changes.

Personally I'd love to see another forum within the "Knife Maker's Forums" that would allow us to jabber with each other OT without having to venture into a more general audience. Truly, the opportunity for community amongst knifemakers is what draws me to Shoptalk.

I'm quite willing to pass on what I've learned when I can be of help. However, too sterile and the place loses it's appeal and becomes tight-sphinctered like other places. The last thing the forum wants is for the experienced people to bail out of boredom.
I am with you Bro. I agree with Fatzo 100%.

I am here. The biggest sinner of them all. I'll do my best to play nice. :(

I agree! There should be a happy medium, or a place like you describe, because lately it seems that the OT, and other things, have gotten to be the majority.

I'm the last guy that wants a sterile forum, or one that you feel you have to tip toe around in, for fear of attack, or criticism . There's enough of those already, and I always breathed a sigh of relief when I logged off one of them.
Finally, I figured life was way too short, and my blood pressure way too high to even go into places that botherd me like that. So I don't.;)

Cougar is actually pretty even handed, and fair. I've seen people get away with things on BFC, that would have gotten them banned at other places.

He doesn't need me to stick up for him, but I can see his point of view.

I like Gus :D

I agree, some of us get carried away with getting off topic with a thread. I never considered any of our guiding angels as heavy handed, though. Ol' Kit has been an inspiration to us all. And Cougar Allen is a great fella, and very entertaining. I'm glad Couger found his way over on this side. Ya hear that, Cougar, ya bastid? Cougar would be disappointed if he didn't get some static, and we want him to feel at home. Great guy, really. Y'all are pretty special folks, more like family.

Hi guys. I feel like my nuts are clipped off being only able to post at home now. I like the OT forum idea. I would like to see it limited strictly to knifemakers somehow though. If it gets too frisky in there, well let's just say too much OT from knifemakers being viewed by the general public may hurt business...

I guess I've always tried to be careful with what I say and therefore able to please as many people as possible?

I like the Maker's OT forum idea too. Don't know how you'd just limit to knifemakers but I suspect only the folks from here would be likely to use it, particularly if it was included in the Knifemaker's area. Probably what drew me to Shop Talk in the first place was the informal and bantering way the members interact. I know it can get out of hand  and we all need to keep Spark's resources bent to their intended purposes. I feel pretty thoroughly spanked! :D But still belong here. Anyway, this thread will do for now.

So: How about them sports teams? (Just kidding - I don't have a clue about sports. Not even sure what season it is... :D )

Personally, I don't think an "exclusive" forum is a good idea. Better to be "inclusive". People already read shoptalk, what do we have to say that anybody else shouldn't?
Anything I have to say, I can say right out in the open. Price, man hours, I just don't care.
If it's that private, maybe email, or PM is the way to go.

Exclusive forums breed contemp, distrust, and dislike. I feel the same about exclusive, LEO, Firefighters/Paramedic, or womens forums. ;)

That's why everybody hates moderators. We all know they have a secret forum here on BFC, appropriately named, "The Rear End", or something of that nature, where they talk about us all, in private.;) :D

Mike I don't think anyone meant to make it "exclusive", just local so that we'd have all our buddies around. I can't speak for anyone else but I don't visit any of the forums here outside the maker's area, so I wouldn't have the same community feel that I do here. I think that's all that was suggested.

Hey guys I need a tip on how to heat treat a blade :footinmou

dang,,, wrong thread  :D hehehe. :D

WELL this is the only way I could see doing it ,,,
if it were a pay site for everyone and anyone then I'd see it..May be :)

anyway I was allowed in here without paying for it and if I wasn't I might not be here now?

to late GUYS I'M IN :p :D :D
