The green party is nothing but a communist front. After the fall(actually changing names)of communism in russia, and the warsaw pact countries, most of the big party hogs slipped right into the green party, where they reside to this day.
Using the environment to achieve political goals is a nasty subtrefuge of theirs, and it works. Sort of like the democrats constant cry of "IF IT ONLY SAVES ONE CHILD" as a way to pass very restrictive laws against firearms, cutlery etc.It's a nasty argument, and if the truth be known, one child is not worth any freedoms lost, and, our environment is not suffering like you have been led to believe.
China has the worst environmental record of pollution in the entire world, yet you say nothing of them, in fact no one does. They only talk about the USA.
In my state we have suffered tremendous damage over the last few years due to forest fires that consumed hundreds of thousands of acres, all due to the environmentalist's that bring lawsuits against this, and any other state when they try to cull forests of bad trees, thin them for healthier growth, and less fire danger, etc. They would rather have the hundreds of thousands of acres burned, than one person profit a penny from the sale of lumber. They do not have your best interests at heart, but rather the control of you, and everyone else, for the enrichment of themselves. Just like communism, or the catholic church hierarchy if you want to go that far.
Nobody was throwing a punch at our allies in the UK, they are our friends, and have backed us in spite of tremendous troubles at home not to. They have suffered the casualties in combat right along with our own troops, and they fight bravely, like they always have. We appreciate your friendship, and always have, at least after 1815, that is.!!
Mike, agreed for near as damn all of what you have said. I must admit that I am an alternative fuels kind of guy, or rather sustainable fuel at least (including Nuke, which IMO is the only way to get fuel without poisoning the planet). You don't want to know what I think about China
There are so many technologies out there that can make our lives better health wise and they are not being employed. They are always touted as impractical which just isnt the case, its about money and investments made in older technology. There will be a point though that this will have to chnge and someones investment lost or not performing as hoped. Why not do it now, deny the ME of their revenue and means to buy arms and clean up where you live at the same time.For those unwilling to make any changes in their lifestyle its a cloud cukoo land dream. For those of us who are willing to make a change to give our kids a better chance of not contracting some toxin related disease then its just plain frustrating.
