Every now and then I think I see DarrylS reading...now there is an old one!

...OLD! ! ! ! !......

...You are right tony...I do slide in to "lurk" now and then. Occasionally I even add a bit of confusion to the great discussions you guys are havin'...:p...This is a great buncha guys currently ruling this little piece of BF and they are doing it quite well.

There were a lot of guys in the forum when me, Trax ,the "goosemeister", Preston, packrat, Dave and many others first popped into this forum. They were the "old timers" and we were the "new guys" on the block.

They gradually saw that we were wild and crazy about Buck knives just like they were and slowly but surely they passed the reins to us. They didn't disappear...they just sat back, relaxed and watched the "new guys"...us...keep the forum alive, interesting and well. Now and again they would pop in to add something we might have been missing about a knife or just to say hello.

This newest bunch of "new guys" are doing just fine from what I see and the mystique of the Buck knife is still strong because of them. Now it's our turn to sit back, relax and watch the "new guys" keep this forum jumping.

Don't be surprised to see chickentrax, packrat, preston, Jeff hubbard, goose or any one of many "old, old timers" pop in from time to time and add a little "spice"...:)

OH WOW...There's ol' Trax now!!!!--------------->

There's a few of us here in Ol' Virginny...I'm jes kinda lurkin...still collectin, but findin ol Bucks is expensive....an jus plain hard to find:D

I've also been told by at least one of the old timers and got the same thing second hand from another that they left the forum or don't participate much anymore because of a couple of noteable "troublemakers" that were posting mostly negative, nitpicking and sarcastic posts.

All the "in fighting" and bickering just got old and they left.

Yes, Dave I agree and did the same thing for a while but then returned .
I happens in other forums as well and I left for a few years from that one . I have two things to say about this and then I'll drop it . I wish guys wouldn't do this sort of thing . We already get alot of negative stuff at work and when we come home and get on here we want a positive and pleasant experience . Second, try to remember we are all human and go thru different phases . Perhaps, somethings going on at home with kids or wife or a chemical imbalance . What ever the case, I left because of bickering . But I shouldn't have as I lost . I should have just resorted to lurking/reading and not posting .
Because I missed out on alot of good information that would have put me years ahead of where I am now had I only ignored . These forums are something you grow into not something you blast your way into . Very little said at the right moment is better than having to say alot later to correct an offense . DM

Postfalls, Your Americraft knives of Bucks kitchen set are handsome but a bit different from mine . Mainly, the serration pattern on the bread knife . I really like the rose wood handles . Thanks . DM

Well, I think EEE retired and also his dad was in bad health and he was taking care of him.
Pack rats wife is not well and he is taking care of her.

Goose had health issues but is better now.

I lost my job after 32 years and just got another one on dry land but just not
able to get on as much.

Also some of us get tired and louse interest and do other things for awhile.

Have not got a e-mail from Trax in a while.Nice picture of him Doc D.

Thats about all I can say for sure.

But like 300 said most of these guys will respond to a e-mail.

Nice......but I don't have the cash on hand like you to buy such fancy stuff.

Once they gets over $35 I start to sweat uncontrollably.

Tel, you have some nice folder for sure... Thanks for sharing them... ITE ...

Tele, Offering accepted . I realize I'm not supposed to engage you concerning folders so please indulge me . As I couldn't help but notice a early 501 with exposed rocker pin (1975) and a Master Series as well . Then a one liner 110, followed by 2 two liners, 2 three liners and a "4 pin" 110 ! A 1969 Lancer and 1972 Trailblazer . WOW ! I was told by a 'seasoned' collector that 'in viewing a mans collection it allows one to read the man' . I must respond with a, thank you---I enjoyed reading the chapter ! DM

Hi All,

I'm late to the party:(. Like Jeff, lost my job a while back. The new job is out of state so I'm only able to get on the PC when I'm at home.

Brother Tel I like big fixed blade knives as much as I do folders. I enjoy your photo's every time you post them and you always have information to help others to learn.

Hell, I'm just a Buck nut like the rest of you;). I like to here what everyone has to say, ask, or show.

I truly hope the missing old timers are just busy and will return with their stories and knowledge of the Buck knives we all love to collect and use.Tele I enjoy hearing about fixed blades and thanks to the forum,I'm the proud owner of an AG Vanguard. As a user I like it better than my Randall fixed blade.I plan on getting several more Buck fixed blades including a kitchen set.You know besides our common interest in great knives I've meet some of the nicest people I've ever known on the Buck forum. When my father laid dying in bed,I showed him smoke and prayers for him from Buck brothers from all over the world on my laptop and he was deeply touched.:) Thanks so much!

Skyhorse, agreed . I've given my wife instructions that should anything happen to me she is to tell you guys . As this seems to help . DM

Tele, I have to disagree with you on this one. The theme is "a cool friggin bunch of Buck folders" I love em, love your fixed pics as well.

I guess I have to say, I am here to learn as much as I can. I like and have some fixed blades, 110's, and 112's. I am retired and work part time to get money to buy some more knife toys. I enjoy all the info given on this and a couple of the other forums. I feel like I have an extended family here that enjoys the same hobby I have. that gives me joy. I hope all is well with all the ones we haven't heard from in a while. There is still a suffering economy that has our country hurting, and some have sickness they are dealing with. I send out prayers that all will be well with them. I really enjoy conversing with all on here now also. I hope to get this picture sharing down and share some of my collection.
