Besides CBL....What kind of beer do yuo guys drink???
I'll start...I like German Heffe Wiezen..My favorite of the moment is Franziskaner from Munich.:D

Samuel Adams MMMMM yummy:D

oops ...err sorry...err... I mean CBL yeah that's it Carling Black Label yeah that's the ticket:p ;) :p

Some of my longtime favorites are [in no special order]: Mackeson Triple Stout [England]; McEwans Scotch Ale [Scotland]; any of the beers from Ommegang brewery [upstate New York]; Anchor Breweries Liberty Ale, Porter, Stout; and basically, dark, thick, bitter to sweetish beers in general.

The beer I miss the most is Anchor's Old Foghorn barleywine style ale- sort of deep reddish in color, just sweet enough with a lingering finish, and pleasantly thick.

Frank

BTW- I've never tried CBL , I'll have to see if it's for sale around here, and if it lives up to its reputation.

For a thirst quenching brew I like either Corona or Hiney, for a serious brew my current favorite is Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale. It's a barleywine style with plenty of hops to back up the malt and HIGH alcohol content!:)

and basically, dark, thick, bitter to sweetish beers in general

I'm with you!!

And I've never had the INFImous CBL either, but there was a CBL Brewery near where I grew up in MA and I remember driving past it as a kid so the name's very familiar to me but i don't have a clue on tha actual beer/taste/quality

Oh, you guys are good!

I really like Corona during the summer. Nothing like it when it is hot and me and the wife are just chillin' out on the deck after the kids go to bed. It is the ONE beer that she actually likes. I think it brings back memories of Mexico

In the fall and winter, I generally lean more towards the darker beers. Sam Adams is a good standby, Saranac Black & Tan is awesome.

Of course when you are just going to really drink a lot and party, I do what our Canadian friends do and reach for Labatts Blue.

When I am hot and thirsty I throw back a nice dark, cool, refreshing..... ROOT BEER!!:D I really like Barqs

Interesting, am I the only one who likes Wine here?
I prefer white wines from Napa, as for the red - Italian/Spahish/French, although there's lots of good red stuff from CA :D. The full list would be long.

Well, I do like Cognac and Brendy too. Vodka, straight up only.

Practically I don't drink beer at all. Very occasionaly I guess :)

I like ThomasBräu from Paulaner -- "Reinheitsgebot purity in an alcohol-free beer alternative. Delicately dry with a light and hoppy finish." Also like Buckler & Clausthaler. Yes, they are all non-alcoholic, and my friends really appreciate it as I am always the Designated Driver.

I have got to go with Frankie, I like my beer thick, dark, and sewi sweet. Mackeson is one of my favorites, but I don't get to drink it much these days. Too much money going toward my INFI habit for such squandering of funds.

Viking,
I too am a Hefe Wiezen kind of guy. My favorite is Schneider Weisse by Scneider&Sohne,a close second is Erdinger Hefe Weizen. I also love Bock Bier, Kneitinger(Spelling? Schleifalot would know)Bock, and Weltenburg Bock as well. Shiner Bock here in Texas is pretty good and available year round. After living in Bavaria for six years I would say that Shiner Bock is almost real beer.:)

I used to drink a lot of CBL because it was cheap and they sold it in 20 packs at the liquor store down the street from where I lived at Ft Benning.:D

Hi viking313!
It´s "Hefeweizen" in German, just FYI.

My fav beer is either Rothaus Tannenzäpfle (from southern Germany), Beck´s, Corona or Foster´s...hard to decide tho...

But I´d still prefer a good Bourbon over any beer. :)

Krombacher!

German Beer! Yep!

Never had CBL. Next time, Jerry?

Greetings from the beer-brewing germans.

Dirk could make as much off me if he started smuggling Altbier to the states as Jerry does selling me knives:eek: How about it Dirk???;)

As far as easily obtainable beer goes, Guiness in any form:cool:, Beamans, McEwans, Old Peculiar, Sam Smith's Oatmeal, Sierra Nevada, Goose Island "Honker's Ale", the list goes on...

I"ve also brewed a few ales, alts and wheats myself, with the occasional lager thrown in....mostly extract with a mini mash using specialty grains.Good stuff and an interesting hobby.

Funny you should say that Viking! I bought a chest freezer and hooked up a thermostat just so I could lager Alt batches:cool:
I mostly do partial mash/extract since I never have the time to do an all grain project anymore:(
Stouts and German ales are what I like to brew the most of:cool:
