the reason for asking is every think is 90 to 95 miles away.

HF has them. Northern tool has them and can ship to your door. I am assuming you are speaking of chain saw chain.

I worked for 2 seasons doing Pre-Commercial Thinning (PCT) of Eucalypt stands. Trees varied from 1" saplings to 12" diameter and each person in the crew usually dropped 800-1500 or more per day - depending on site conditions. Vice, set of files, a guide and a steady hand is all we ever used and is all you need unless you're doing heaps of chains. Don't forget to service the bar regularly too. Old toothbrush for cleaning out the crap also useful.

The electric honing systems will give the blades a nice polish but the saw won't necessarily cut any better

+1 on what Antonio said. My family and I are in the woods usually every saturday morning to cut 2 truck loads of firewood. One for my parents and the other for my elderly neighbors, all we ever use is a wood vice welded to the rear pipe bumper of dad's old p/u and a file & file guide. Look for Stihl or Oregon brand equiptment. We've had good luck with both
