I really don't know what to make of this mail or expect anything to be done about it, but felt it should be documented and reported.
As you all know, the posting rules exploded again on Shop talk. A few registered user folks had a problem, but most of the rest were fine wih the rules. One member was really pissed, and said he was leaving. Thanks again to Karada for backing me up. I received this email immediately after that. I have said that I will be very lenient in photo posts in Shop Talk, but some will have nothing but their way:

You are the problems well known knifemakers leave shoptalk. You are jealous of the success and notoriety of other makers who are far more competent and famous then you are. You have made yourself a little nitch as "Hall monitor" on the forum because it gives you some source of satisfaction to laud you authority over others. You attack Ed Fowler in Blade magazine because of this jealousy, you bitch and complain of other makers posting pictures of their works in the gallery and custom areas claiming they are self promoting. You are jealous and frustrated that many up and coming knifemakers are becoming well known while you are essentially ignored by the majority of the knife community.


You call names and throw temper tantrums on the forum exposing what a envious and jealous geek you are. You want to be the "answer man" on the forum and even show what a jealous fool you are when you bitch and complain about a new maker giving an answer ....even if it is correct. But of course you have been a geek your entire life haven't you? You have always been the hall monitor and tattletale during your life.


You are a man bitch.


You are such a manbitch and a jealous piece of shit that it was you... who approached Spark to start enforcing the picture rule in shop talk. You jealous geek just can not stand that all these makers are making better knives then you and selling more as well as being better known and respected then you in the knife community. You are know as a bitch and because of this you use your hall monitor powers to use your authority over other knifemakers.


Sure you can blame Spark for the rule but we all know it was you who brought it up and want it enforced because you can not stand to see how much better other makers are then you.


These makers actually make their blades and not just buy them from Jantz and put a handle on them like you....what a joke.


Knifeamaker leave shoptalk because of you and your big mouth and your toadies who pile on good men to tear them down due to jealousy.


You are ruining shop talk and chasing away other maker so you can be the last man standing for newbies to look up to..... You are a piece of shit.


You are not well respected in the knifemaking community because of your man bitch attitude. You are a insecure little nerd who relishes having authority over other good men so you can tear them down on your own turf.


Oh and BTW if you are going to be the "Go to guy" on shop talk then at least post the pictures you say you are going to. You are famous for always saying you are going to post pictures later and you never do.... what an asshole.


So fuck off Apelt......you have always been a little bitch and always will be.

Stacy, you do a lot for Bladeforums, you get my vote for MVP.

If it weren't for your helpful posts I might not be making knives. Keep up the great work!
 
Stacy, for what it's worth anybody that rants like that and won't man up and sign it is just another tool to be ignored. My motto (and one that I teach my children) "if its worth saying...its worth saying out loud...if you're going to say it about somebody...you sure as **** better be saying it to somebody! Just my .02...probably worth what you paid for it:D
 
I don't post post much in Shoptalk, but I've read a whole bunch of stuff in there. I also don't know Stacy from Adam, but I can say that what I have read so far as been supportive and helpful to those that ask questions or need a nudge in the right direction. Shame some folks can't see that.

Talk is cheap. Anonymous rants are even cheaper.

That probably doesn't lower your blood pressure. But, you sure have the support of everyone who is man enough to sign their name.
 
Stacy, add to so many knifemakers and new members who are glad to have you here, helping share knowledge and encourage the work, the mods who have the pleasure of dealing with you.

Of all the people to charge with jealousy and insensitivity, you are the least likely to behave badly.

Stacy, if they are too cowardice to at least give you their names, I wouldn't even worry about it. Not that you need me to tell you that.

Fuck that guy. I'm always open to constructive criticism. If someone doesn't like things, they can come to me with their valid concerns and I'll be happy to address them.

This isn't constructive criticism.
 
The fact that this person needs to repeat himself, in minutely different ways sounds familiar

I have been reading for 3 months and have thought you were a very helpful guy bladesmith
 
The idiot who wrote this piece of whine is only a crying coward for going this far in thier rag and not signing it. Stacy let it roll off like water off of a ducks back, the internet has its share of losers, you have contributed allot to the knife community.
 
Stacy, you're not the first and won't be the last of the moderators here that have to put up with b.s. from knuckleheads (to use a polite term) who neither have the intelligence to get the big picture, nor the ethics to do what is right. Add in cowardice on top of that and what you have is someone not worth wasting a moment of your day on.

You've always shown yourself to be one of the good guys in my experience. Those who actually take the time to give the matter thought can come to no other conclusion imho.

You're doing a great job, Stacy. There's always gonna be assholes spreading their vitriol when they "know" they're right. I've had a member threaten to kill me and eat my flesh. Crazy and bold tend to come out more when someone's sitting behind their ego box.

That aside, I'd agree with your comments re the internet and anonymity. I've never been a mod or associated in any formal way with any internet entity, but in my official capacity ... there have been many hyperbolic threats. I'm old now, and I'm still here.;)
 
Your Piper occupies a prominent spot in view of us both. Your fine attitude and kind demeanor radiate from the little guy, and will always be cherished by Alice. You made her very happy, and for that I thank you.

Just toss the rotten apples in the compost heap, let them fester away from you.

Keep doing what you do, the way you do it, you're doing it right....
