I received this message today. I thought some of you may be interested in this group.

Stacy,
First of how are you and your family? I hope all is well. A long time ago now you sent me some hand tools, steel, and handle material so I could get started in knife making. And have not stopped yet ( thank you). After a friend of mine started a Facebook page called Forging it Forward I thought of you. Let me tell you what I know about the group. They are a group of guys that are getting together to help people that have a true interest in smithing not the fly by night guys that are gonna forget about it after a week or they get burned once. The are on a quarterly time line to get equipment or anything thing one sees fit to give to someone in need that literally can not afford getting into the craft. I mean the gift can be anything from knowledge to tools to whatever you know. It honestly made me reflect on my start and all the help you gave me. In my opinion this is a great thing that they are doing . They are trying to plan ways to make it not so easy for someone to take advantage. Now I feel this is something right up your ally. Don't wait take advantage you never know how big this is gonna get. They want to expand all over the world. People are joining at an astonishing rate on a daily basis. If you are interested and want more info or have any questions or concerns you can get a hold of the creator his name is Jason@hojforge.com. He is a friend and a great guy. Thank you for taking your time in reading this . If you do join or not it would be great for you to share this at the very least.

Thank you for everything you have done for me and I'm certain I was not the only one. , Martin Moldovan M&S Blades

It is a big'ish community with LOTS of beginners and a few veterans, with probably an equal amount of blacksmiths and bladesmiths. Thanks for the heads up.

Hah, I know Martin from youtube, funny seeing his name pop up here. I believe I recommended that he sign up here not too long ago

Funny thing is that he immediately came to mind as I was reading this post, before I even saw his name at the bottom. I was just watching a vid of his a couple days ago and left a comment on how I think he would benefit if he actually used some known steel such as 1084 or 1080. If I had any extra steel I would send some his way, but unfortunately at the moment I only have a few pieces of cut up bars in a few different types. I only get a couple at a time and buy more after I mostly use them up. I really am a slow knife maker lol.

Anyway, this sounds like a nice idea.

I do hope they're able to figure out a way to make sure the help goes to those who will truly appreciate it. I know how much it meant to me when I had first begun making knives and was very graciously helped out with some supplies by another generous knife maker.

It really is a great community!

Thanks for sharing it here, Stacy.
