Really.... ladies all I can remind you of is that the alcohol content of most beers in the US is a little less than ours (and there is a great Aussie description of most - no not all - US beers, that being "Sex In A Boat", I will leave it at that), so by the time I have had a dozen of the local brew I am just that must more immune to pain, vanity and appropriate social standards, anything is possible..!!!
I just found a store around the corner that carries Coopers. Never thought I'd see that here.

Of course, these days a fair number of the micro-brews taste as good as I remember the German (ahem, Bavarian!) beers tasting.

Sorry, but I beg to differ.
We have a pizza place nearby with a great beverage selection. Instead of a limited drinks menu, they have a wall of cooler cases, with an extensive selection of soda, beer, and wine. I usually get the Fosters oil can; for only $3.50, it's a very good pizza beer.
