Office Knife

Ladybug and manbug are way too small in my opinion. I would check out the new g10 kiwi its about a 3 inch blade but feels small in hand. It doesnt stand out much with the wire pocket clip and has pretty deep carry.

If it's going to be for light-use and one-handed opening isn't a must, it might be worthwhile to track down a Micro Dyad.

I have one NIB that I never use in black pearl, but I want to. I get it out, handle it, and put it away. It's a beauty, though it is a little dense. It will go right to the bottom of your pocket like a sinker. Definitely man-jewelry. Easy one hander as small as it is. Sharp blades of VG-10.

For light weight, I would go with a Ladybug in desired steel. I had a Jester, but it's gone. Loved it, although is was AUS-6 I think. Still a great design. They should bring that one back in VG-10 (linerless, not like the grey sprint run they did a little while ago).

^^^ That is exactly what I went with. I don't need much knife at work and I didn't want to clip it to dress pants. With it riding in the bottom of my pocket I wanted something as light as possible. Plus with all the knives I bought lately cost was a factor as well. The Ladybug seemed to fit all these requirements. I should have it in a day or two.

I have an Air and love it and that is my office carry too, but as pointed out repeatedly on this thread, the O.P. wanted under 2" blade and the Air is not!! Easy to carry, lightweight, great little knife, but not within requested specs.

Looking forward to the next Jester sprint in FRN (Sal gave the affirmative nod to it on their official forum). I love the thin profile of mine in G10, but welcome the lighter and slimmer build. The Jester is great because it is thin and the blade isn't as tall as the Ladybug or Manbug. It disappears in the coin/watch/knife pockets of my flat front, slim work pants, which is a necessity in my line of work.

The Ladybug arrived today and I've been carrying it around the house in basketball shorts. So far I like it, and I love the Foliage Green color. It's small, real small. But it's big enough to open and close with one hand and I can even flick it open with my thumb. No middle finger flick with this one though. :( I did add a lanyard to give me a four fingered grip and it feels good. Surprisingly, the cutting edge is almost the same as my DFly. Weight is non existent. I think the Spyderco box it came in weighs more. I think it will fill it's role just fine and the office sheeple won't get scared away.

My wife has been beating the snot out of the pink ladybug I got her almost 10 years ago. I just gotta sharpen it now and then, she won't tell me if it's dull, she just keeps using it. It's on her Tacoma keyring with a pink streamlight nano.

Really!! A new FRN Jester in (I hope) VG-10 at least??? I'm buying at least 2 to replace my lost beloved Jester of many years ago. Great little knife.

Ladybug/Manbug/Jester -- all nice.

Air -- blade not stainless, unfortunately.

My favorite under-2-inch folder is the Sanremu 605.

Styled like a small Hinderer, it flips open easily with a thumb stud, has easy-to-clean open-pillar construction, a terrific clip that really works, and is shaving sharp.

My favorite might-mite for office carry. Friends, postal carriers and repair people love them as holiday gifts. An absolute steal at the price. My last batch of five came with a deeper red, FRN scales, looking even nicer than past orders.

Highly recommended.

I would suspect that since he posted this thread in the Spyderco sub-forum, he is not interested in budget Chinese knives;)

I worked in an office and the look of the knife made more difference then blade length. I carried a camo Military and got complaints, even being the IT guy. When I switched it out to a Safety Orange Military, everyone was fine with it.

I suggest an Orange Delica.

Agreed -- I did not notice it was in the Spydie forum until after posting. Apologies!

My office knife today is a Strider SMF. :) Seriously. You never know when you may be forced to cut through an aircraft fuselage or something.

Every day, I have a ZDP Ladybug on my keychain. It is an excellent little knife.

Centofante is a light versatile EDC. I bought a Caly 3.5 with the CF handles and the ZDP 189 and laminated J2 blade for carry with dress pants. I figured the CF wouldn't scar the pants pocket. It's so nice I just hate to carry it. No one says anything about my knives very often. I had one older lady say is that knife allowed in here. I just say yes, have you seen the swords they use to cut the cakes? I heard anything under 4.5 was fine, which is over the state official conceal limit. They want to allow steak knives and kitchen knives, so they can't say much about pocket knives.

Many are ex-military. So most are cool about it. I've had my knife out cutting my food when senior management has stopped by to ask a question. No real comments. Some even have the folder on the belt.
