Just wondering what everyone who works in an office environment EDC's, and what your thoughts are on whats appropriate and whats to much.

I carry a spyderco chaparral at the office. I've always lived in the South but no one has ever seemed to take a 2nd glance when I've used folders under 3" blades in the workplace.

I work in an office and my assistant jumped when I opened mail with a 4" benchmade axis. Probably should not have flung it open. This was in California in the 90's (before sept 11 obviously) I would say it depends on location but I would stick to sub 3" and no wave opening or flicking open. Now, I would carry my Sage 2 or other gent folder like William Henry or Lionsteel with pearl.

It really depends on how many Sheeple you work around. I have some client's offices where I could bring a two handed ba$tard sword into and nobody would bat an eye. Then I have clients who would flinch at a Spyderco Squeak. I carry a LOT of different knives to my client's offices, and I find that bright colored knives or ones with fancy handle materials (Sante Fe Stoneworks for example) work best around knife phobics. When I pull out a Sante Fe Stoneworks Kiwi, even the most knife phobic office girls are actually interested in the knife.

I used to be a technical trainer for the semi conductor industry and traveled a lot pre 9-11, I've carried everything from a Beretta/Warren Thomas Avenger to a William Henry P-10 Lancet. I was known as a knife knut but because of how I carried myself and used my knives, no-one ever questioned me about my choice of knives.

I would reco a 3" blade and under. CRK small Sebenza is the often-stated champ in this line-up.

I work in an office. Today I was carrying a 4" SOG automatic. Tomorrow I'm carrying a Spyderco Military.

Benchmade 943 with black plain edge
It is very slim and the black edge looks like beeing shorter than it actually is.
It just don ´t flip it open to avoid to draw too much attention to it

Victorinox alox pioneer in pocket, comes in handy when unscrewing computers and fixing lighting.
Victorinox spartan black, to keep as a spare.
Spyderco para 2 in cargo pocket, for cutting food and the occasional unboxing.

Not exactly a EDC, but I keep a Victorinox non-serrated sentinel on my desk for lending out when my colleague and co-workers need a sharp knife.

I rotate through most of my folders mainly the ones that are 3.5" or less blade length.

i carry a buck alpha hunter rosewood , with a lanyard that has a tiny hook wich hangs from my belt down in my pocket.
this way you don't notice it and i do not feel it, looking for a zt 566 though.

Whatever it is, it has to have a pocket clip. I carried a SAK for years until I got an office job, kept finding my SAK under the desk after that. For some reason knives seem to be the first thing to fall out.

There's another rant about men's pants and nonfunctional pockets in there...

Office worker here.

Usually carry a Victorinox Cadet, Ontario Rat II, or Spyderco Dragonfly 2.

OP (lol that fits for 2 reasons) love the name and the .gif!

As an office EDC I either recommend a Sage1 or 2 or if they're really looking for a nice knife about any William Henry is great.

For a smaller knife a carbon fiber chaparral or any flavor of dragonfly is great.
